Why Join
We are seeking a driven and commercially astute strategy professional to join Commercial Banking in a strategic planning and business transformation role. The role will support the development and execution of strategic initiatives across key markets, working closely with business units, country teams, product partners, support functions and external partners to identify growth opportunities, strengthen customer propositions and deliver measurable business outcomes.
How you succeed
The individual will play a key role in market landscaping, business performance analysis and transformation delivery. This includes translating strategic priorities into implementation roadmaps, developing business cases and value propositions, dimensioning financial and non-financial targets, as well as investments required in human capital and other capability build to deliver the ambition.
What you do
Strategy Development
- Support the formulation and execution of Commercial Banking strategic plans, ensuring alignment with overall business priorities and market opportunities.
- Perform/manage market analysis, competitive benchmarking, customer segment assessments and industry trend reviews to identify growth opportunities, strategic risks and emerging business models.
- Develop clear business cases, strategic recommendations and value propositions for new market opportunities, customer segments, products, channels and capabilities.
- Support annual business planning and strategic review processes.
- Manage execution of strategic priorities and establish governance mechanisms to ensure delivery of targeted outcomes.
Business Transformation & Programme Delivery
- Drive and coordinate transformation initiatives aimed at improving customer propositions, operational efficiency and revenue growth across Commercial Banking.
- Translate strategic priorities into practical implementation roadmaps with clear milestones, owners, resourcing requirements, risks and timelines.
- Monitor progress of strategic projects, track delivery against agreed outcomes and proactively escalate risks or dependencies with proposed mitigating actions.
Performance Monitoring & Communications
- Monitor key management processes, business performance and progress of strategic initiatives through agreed metrics and governance routines.
- Develop strategic narratives and management presentation materials to effectively communicate the business strategy to management, employees and partners, ensuring that all stakeholders are aligned with, understand and able to collectively work towards the same goals.
- Support communication and alignment across business teams, country stakeholders, employees and partners to ensure shared understanding of priorities and execution plans.
Stakeholder Management
- Work closely with senior management, business heads and functional partners to align priorities, facilitate decision-making and drive execution of strategic initiatives.
- Build strong partnerships across business, support, and control functions.
- Influence stakeholders through fact-based analysis, structured problem-solving and clear communication of strategic options and implications.
- Act as a reliable execution partner to senior leaders by coordinating inputs, resolving issues and ensuring accountability across workstreams.
Who you are
- Relevant experience in strategic planning, business development, transformation, innovation, preferably in commercial banking
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret customer and financial data for strategic recommendations and decision-making
- Experience in driving business transformation involving new business models, customer segments, products, and/or channels preferably in commercial or business banking
- Ability to craft high-impact messaging, management papers and presentation materials for senior audiences.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence, collaborate and build alignment across businesses, functions and countries.
- Self-starter who is comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities and working through ambiguity with sound judgement.
