How you succeed
To succeed in this role, it starts with your ability to build strong relationship with the regional offices, collaborate, driving a culture of accountability and ownership in risk management. You will spearhead key initiatives that embed risk awareness deeply into business practices, ensuring teams take proactive responsibility for identifying and managing risks.
By leading the centralization of risk oversight, you will create streamlined, robust control frameworks that enhance transparency and consistency across all GCFS offices. Your commitment to continuous improvement will be critical in elevating our risk governance standards and operational excellence to new heights.
Your strategic mindset, collaborative leadership, and hands-on approach will enable you to navigate complex regional dynamics and deliver sustainable risk management solutions that protect the organization and support its growth ambitions.
What you do
– Lead the implementation and regional adaptation of GCFS risk management initiatives and methodologies to effectively mitigate financial crime, operational, and digital risks, ensuring standardisation and consistency across all GCFS offices in the region.
– Champion the uplift of risk culture and conduct standards by embedding strong ethics and governance principles throughout the organisation, fostering a culture of integrity and accountability.
– Maintain and continuously enhance robust risk management frameworks that comply with Group policies, local regulatory requirements, and industry best practices, ensuring resilience and compliance.
– Monitor and analyse key risk indicators, incidents, and emerging risk trends; prepare comprehensive, insightful reports on significant risk events with actionable recommendations for senior management.
– Drive the design and delivery of risk management training and awareness programs to cultivate a proactive risk ownership mindset among employees across all levels.
– Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders to ensure integrated, aligned, and effective risk management practices across the OCBC Group.
– Support the embedment of target operating model by adapting best practices to local contexts while maintaining strong governance and operational rhythms.
– Utilize data analytics and surveillance tools to strengthen risk detection capabilities and enhance early warning systems, enabling timely and informed decision-making.
Who you are
– A degree in a relevant field, such as business, finance, or risk management
– At least 5 years of experience in risk management or a related field
– Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and strategically
– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels
– Strong knowledge of risk management principles and practices, including risk assessment and mitigation techniques
