Overview

The Senior Manager, Media Relations & Leadership Visibility is responsible for advancing PwC’s presence in the marketplace through strategic media engagement, thought leadership promotion and executive visibility initiatives.
This role leads the development and execution of proactive media relations programs that position PwC and its leaders as authoritative voices on the issues shaping business, technology, the economy and society. Working across Global Communications, the role identifies opportunities to elevate PwC’s perspectives, strengthen relationships with key media and amplify the firm’s insights through earned channels.
The role also supports the external positioning of priority leaders by integrating executive visibility opportunities into broader media and thought leadership strategies.
This is a proactive media relations and influence role focused on increasing the reach, relevance and impact of PwC’s voice in the marketplace.

Job Details

Demonstrating industry leader level knowledge of and/or proven record of success in:

1. Media Relations Strategy & Execution

  • Develop and execute proactive media relations strategies aligned with firm priorities, thought leadership agendas and business objectives.
  • Identify opportunities to position PwC experts and leaders in relevant media conversations and news cycles;
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key journalists, editors, producers and influencers across business, technology, trade and global business media;
  • Partner with territory communications teams to coordinate media opportunities that support global priorities;
  • Drive a consistent pipeline of media engagement opportunities that elevate PwC’s voice in the marketplace;

2. Thought Leadership Promotion

  • Develop earned media strategies to support flagship research, surveys, reports and strategic initiatives;
  • Identify newsworthy angles and storytelling opportunities that increase visibility for PwC insights;
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts, communications teams and business stakeholders to translate complex topics into compelling media narratives;
  • Support integrated launch and promotion strategies across earned, owned and social channels;

3. Executive Visibility & Leadership Positioning

  • Support the external positioning of priority leaders through targeted media opportunities, speaking engagements and thought leadership promotion;
  • Partner with Executive Communications colleagues to align visibility opportunities with leadership platforms and strategic messaging;
  • Prepare executives for media engagements through briefing materials, key messages and interview preparation;
  • Identify opportunities to strengthen executive presence across business, policy and industry conversations;

4. Media Engagement & Content Development

  • Draft media materials including press releases, media pitches, briefing documents, Q&As, talking points and background materials;
  • Support executive and subject matter expert interactions with media outlets;
  • Manage media inquiries and coordinate responses in partnership with communications colleagues and business stakeholders;
  • Ensure media engagements are aligned with firm messaging and strategic priorities;

5. Stakeholder Management & Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Serve as a trusted communications partner to executives, subject matter experts and business leaders;
  • Coordinate closely with Executive Communications, Social Media, Marketing, Thought Leadership and territory communications teams;
  • Build strong working relationships across the network to identify opportunities and share best practices;
  • Help align external communications efforts across multiple channels and audiences;

7. Team Development & Capability Building

  • Coach, mentor and develop junior communications professionals, helping strengthen media relations, storytelling and stakeholder management capabilities;
  • Provide guidance, feedback and quality control on media materials, pitches, messaging and communications plans;
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, learning and continuous improvement across the team.
  • Support onboarding and professional development of team members;
  • Share best practices and emerging trends in media relations, executive visibility and thought leadership promotion to help elevate team performance;
  • Serve as a role model for strong communications judgment, client service and cross-functional partnership;

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field, with 8+ years of experience in media relations, corporate communications, or public relations.
  • Proven track record of developing and executing successful media relations and thought leadership campaigns, including securing high-profile earned media coverage.
  • Strong network of media contacts and deep understanding of the business, technology, trade, and corporate media landscape.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, storytelling, and stakeholder management skills, with experience supporting senior executives and leadership positioning initiatives.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional projects, influence senior stakeholders, and mentor junior team members in a fast-paced, global environment.
