The Network Infra Engineer is part of the 3rd Level Telco Infrastructure Operations, providing expert technical support and leadership across core infrastructure under enterprise services.
The role serves as the highest technical escalation point within the infrastructure team, ensuring service stability, secure and compliant infrastructure operations, successful implementation of complex IPVPN solutions, and continuous service improvement across multi-vendor environments (Juniper, Cisco, Fortinet).
Make an Impact by:
- Act as the 24×7 L3 escalation point for Operations and Provisioning teams on IP network issues, ensuring timely resolution of complex faults and service disruptions.
- Lead troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and resolution of complex and chronic network problems, driving preventive and long-term corrective actions.
- Provide technical leadership during major incidents, overseeing incident, problem, and change management from a technical governance perspective.
- Lead design reviews and oversee implementation, expansion, upgrades, and roll-outs of IP network infrastructure across multi-vendor environments.
- Perform risk and impact assessments for hardware/software advisories, conduct preventive maintenance, and ensure infrastructure security through audits and timely patching.
- Monitor and analyze IP network performance, proactively recommending enhancements including software and hardware upgrades to improve stability and performance.
- Work closely with vendors, partners, engineering, and cross-functional teams to resolve escalated technical issues and support new product or feature deployments.
- Prepare network performance and statistical reports and provide technical guidance and training to Tier 1 and Tier 2 engineers to strengthen operational capability.
Skills for Success:
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in similar capacity or in Service provider or carrier-grade environment experience; leadership of technical teams; security/vulnerability management exposure.
- Good knowledge on Telco and enterprise network and technologies.
- Strong understanding of routing protocols like OSPF, BGP, MP-BGP, MPLS, TE, QoS.
- Possess good level of knowledge in Internetworking, IP routing protocols, troubleshooting for MPLS/IP VPN based networks.
- Possess good working knowledge in Cisco and/or Juniper routers architecture.
- Possess good analytical and trouble-shooting skills in technical fault isolation and rectification.
- Ability to lead during major incidents
- Strong communication & stakeholder management
- Candidates with JNCIE/ CCIE/ CCNP/ NSE certification will be added advantage
