The Project Manager is a highly driven individual who will be part of the project delivery team which fronts customers directly. The Project Manager is required to have broad experience and knowledge across network technologies.
The Project Manager should have proven track records in areas of Project Management and Stakeholder Management. Being familiar and knowledgeable in IT Service Management, IT Security Management and IT Security Compliance & QA Management will be an added advantage.
Responsibilities
You will be acting on behalf of a key public sector client of NCS and representing the client as you carry out the following activities. (The list serves as a general guide and is not exhaustive.)
- Engage the client’s IT users directly in project delivery matters and schedules, including fronting presentations to the IT users across the organization
- Schedule the onsite visits and delivery of project implementations
- Manage the IT infrastructure project services delivery team(s) of the incumbent vendor (NCS)
- Perform monitoring, tracking and reporting of projects to the client’s management
- Govern the vendor’s (NCS) project delivery execution to ensure compliance to client’s and IT users’ IT and security policies and directives
- Govern the vendor’s (NCS) project delivery schedules to ensure timely project delivery
- Review and govern the vendor’s (NCS) project deliverables (e.g., presentations, service reports, project reports, technical documentation)
- Proactively identify opportunities for further expansion or improvement of project services delivery to the customer and liaise with the Account Manager(s) for development of that opportunity.
- Collaborate with vendor’s (NCS) Project Manager to mitigate and/or eliminate risks to project delivery that are identified and raised by the Project Manager. Where relevant, work with client’s management team and/or IT users to mitigate or minimize risks.
- Maintain an understanding of industry trends that directly relate to specific customer’s business strategies.
- Participate in leadership activities and providing performance feedback and developmental coaching.
- Monitor and improve team performance, providing leadership, coaching, and performance management.
Professional skills
- 5 years of IT project management experience
- Experience in the development, implementation and support of information technology projects in a range of organizations
- Degree in Information Systems or equivalent
- Self-motivated with a positive “can-do” attitude, creative with excellent presentation, communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills including strong persuasive techniques.
- Able to lead, develop and maintain respectful and trusting relationship
- Proficiency in written and spoken English
- Competent communication skills such as in delivering presentations
- Able to travel as required
