We are looking for a Full Stack Developer with strong backend engineering experience to join the Paragon Core Engineering team. In this role, you will design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services while contributing to frontend development where applicable. You will work with modern cloud-native technologies, distributed systems, and cross-functional teams to build secure, reliable, and high-performing applications.

How You will Make An Impact:

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services using Java and Spring Boot.
• Build, enhance, and maintain RESTful APIs.
• Develop secure, scalable, and maintainable software solutions following secure software development practices.
• Design and maintain event-driven architectures using Apache Kafka.
• Collaborate closely with frontend developers, DevOps engineers, Site Reliability Engineers (SREs), product managers, and other stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions.
• Troubleshoot production issues and participate in production support activities, including incident investigation and resolution where applicable.
• Monitor, optimize, and improve application performance, scalability, reliability, and observability.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and automation initiatives to improve software delivery.
• Ensure adherence to coding standards, security requirements, testing practices, and quality engineering principles.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement of engineering practices.

Skills for success:

• Strong proficiency in Java (Java 17 or Java 21 preferred)
• Experience with Spring Boot
• Experience designing and developing RESTful APIs
• Knowledge of application and system security principles
• Experience building microservices-based applications
• Experience with Apache Kafka and event-driven architectures
• Working knowledge of Kubernetes concepts and container orchestration
• Familiarity with cloud platforms and infrastructure fundamentals

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Docker and containerization
• Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or Argo CD
• Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, or Splunk
• Familiarity with Linux environments and shell scripting
• Exposure to frontend technologies and modern web application development
