Job Purpose

The Vice President, Strategic Marketing & Partnerships leads high-priority marketing initiatives that cut across businesses and markets, turning strategic investments and partnerships into measurable commercial and brand impact.

A key priority is maximizing the value of OCBC’s major strategic partnerships, creating integrated platforms that can be activated across products, customer segments and markets. The role serves as the central orchestrator for these partnerships, bringing together businesses and markets to shape high-impact ideas, align activation plans and governance, and drive consistent execution and performance visibility.

The role also strengthens marketing effectiveness, leading the planning and governance of marketing investment, brand health measurement and industry recognition. Together, these responsibilities provide a holistic view of where Marketing invests, how strategic platforms are activated, and how their impact is measured and demonstrated.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Partnerships & Initiatives

  • Lead the strategy and activation of major strategic partnerships across businesses and markets, with clear commercial, customer and brand objectives.
  • Develop high-impact partnership ideas and propositions that drive acquisition, engagement and brand relevance.
  • Orchestrate cross-business and market teams to align priorities, assess feasibility and enable effective execution.
  • Drive activation planning and governance, building common playbooks and facilitating knowledge sharing for consistent, scalable execution across markets.
  • Track performance, translate results into actionable insights and identify opportunities to optimize and extend partnerships.

 

Marketing Planning & Effectiveness

  • Lead the annual marketing planning and budget process, including investment allocation, through-year reforecasting and management reporting.
  • Establish strong governance around marketing investment, tracking spend, efficiency and business outcomes to support better investment decisions.
  • Partner with Finance and Marketing teams to assess priorities and optimise the allocation of marketing resources.
  • Develop the operating cadence, tools and reporting that enable greater transparency, accountability and effectiveness across Marketing.

Brand Measurement & Insights

  • Lead OCBC’s brand health tracking across the region, including methodology, research partners and implementation.
  • Translate brand tracking and other relevant performance indicators into actionable insights for Marketing leadership and business teams.
  • Connect brand and marketing measures with broader business outcomes to provide a holistic view of marketing effectiveness.

Marketing Excellence & Industry Recognition

  • Lead GCFS’s approach to key marketing and brand industry awards, identifying the strongest work and stories that demonstrate marketing and business impact.
  • Partner with teams across the bank to develop compelling submissions supported by clear strategic rationale and results.
  • Monitor industry and competitor developments to identify opportunities to strengthen OCBC’s marketing profile and external recognition.

 

Candidate Profile

  • 12+ years of relevant experience in marketing, brand, partnerships or strategy, ideally within financial services or a large regional consumer business.
  • Proven experience developing and activating major brand partnerships, sponsorships or strategic marketing platforms with measurable commercial and brand impact.
  • Strong understanding of integrated marketing, with the ability to connect brand, customer and commercial objectives across the marketing funnel.
  • Experience operating across multiple businesses and markets, with an appreciation of local market needs and the ability to create scalable regional platforms.
  • Adept at working with research, brand tracking and marketing performance data to identify insights and inform decisions.
  • Strong strategic thinking and storytelling skills, with the ability to translate complex initiatives and results into clear, compelling narratives.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the credibility to work across Segments, Product, Sales, Finance, markets and senior leadership.
