The Systems Planning Manager for Managed WiFi Services is responsible for the strategic planning, engineering, lifecycle management, and governance of the centralized WiFi service platform and supporting headend infrastructure. The role drives technology evaluation and proof-of-concept (PoC) initiatives with key vendors, while working closely with architecture, product management, global competencies, technical pre-sales, and other stakeholders to establish service standards and technology roadmaps.

 

The incumbent provides technical leadership for platform deployment, feature development, and continuous service enhancement to ensure a secure, scalable, and high-performing WiFi environment. Responsibilities include managing technology lifecycle activities, knowledge transfer, product communications (including End-of-Life notifications), and advanced technical support for complex incidents and escalations (Level 3 and Level 4). The role also leads engineering, capacity planning, and security initiatives to maintain service reliability and support business growth.

 

Make an impact by:

  • Responsible for the design and build of the managed Wifi Services platforms and Infrastructure
  • Responsible Technologies Proof-of-Concept with principal vendors and supporting Proof-of-Value with customers.
  • Support product management team in defining and coordinating the scope of works with various stakeholders like Architecture Offices, Global Competencies, Product Management, Technical Pre-sale, Global Fulfillment, Global Competencies and so on.
  • Working closely with principal partners for technology knowledge transfer and technology notice broadcast such as End of Life or End of Sale i.e Release Life Cycle Management
  • Responsible for new features development, regression testing, verification checks and ensuring compliance to design specifications.
  • Providing Level 3 & 4 support with principal platform partner over bug or software escalation
  • Managing of Capex/Opex and assets management, ensuring project deliverables.
  • Responsible for technical planning, network/security engineering, and project management/coordination
  • Responsible for providing technical procedures, configuration standards, playbooks and knowledge-based documentation.
  • Stay updated with emerging WiFi standards (Wi-Fi 6/6E/7) and industry trends to evaluate and introduce new WiFi technologies and automation capabilities.

 

Skills for success:

  • Diploma / Degree in Information Technology/Computer Science
  • A 3+ years of relevant experience in WiFi engineering, preferably in a managed services or enterprise IT environment
  • Strong understanding of wireless networking standards, RF theory, and LAN/WAN integration.
  • Experience with enterprise or cloud-based WiFi platforms (Meraki, Aruba, Ruckus, Cisco).
  • Knowledge of authentication systems and network security protocols.
