You will be responsible for originating, structuring and executing structured finance transactions in OCBC’s target markets in Asia and beyond.  In the course of working on such transactions within SPFA, a specialized product team, you will be closely working with sector coverage teams in Singapore and overseas branches, as well as other product teams within Global Wholesale Banking.  If you are passionate about working on multiple transactions across sectors in a dynamic environment, this could be the perfect role for you.

To succeed in this role, you will need to have a deep understanding of key sectors including Renewables, Power & Utilities, Oil & Gas, infrastructure, etc. as well as the ability to handle complex project structures and commercial, technical and legal issues found in financing of greenfield as well as brownfield projects. The candidate shall be detail oriented and a strong communicator and relationship builder, with the ability to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders. The candidate will also need to effectively manage multiple transactions independently and proactive. As Executive Director, the candidate will provide leadership within the team and across Bank with strategic initiatives and guidance to colleagues.

What you do

  • Develop and execute Project Finance (PF) and Export Credit Agency (ECA) Finance business in the region as well as select transactions handled by overseas Structured Finance teams where necessary
  • Lead the entire credit origination, due diligence, documentation and execution process. This includes the assessment of credit risks and structuring; preparation of credit applications and manage documentation until financial close is achieved.
  • Lead in originating new transactions in the region
  • Monitor trends within the sectors and updated knowledge of the market and its effect on the portfolio/new business prospects
  • Identify and pursue a topical business development theme to materialise new business opportunities beyond business as usual themes
  • Help the team to develop and review strategic direction of Structured Finance business
  • Help manage relationships with both internal (relationship bankers, credit, overseas branches) and external (clients, Structured Finance banks, advisors) stakeholders
  • Provide mentoring to junior team members

 

Qualifications

 

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 7-10 years relevant experience in structured finance
  • Sound credit and structuring skills to justify credit merits to internal/external stakeholders
  • Experience in deal origination and client facing roles
  • Strong financial modelling capabilities with ability to analyze numbers
  • Attention to details
  • Multi-tasking and proactive time management
  • Must be able to work independently, driven, self-motivated and strong in interpersonal communication skills
