Overview

As a Network Operations Centre (NOC) Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the operational integrity, reliability, and performance of mission-critical network and IT systems. Based at the user’s site and working in a 24/7 rotating shift environment, you will be responsible for monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintaining a range of network subsystems and user equipment. You will also collaborate closely with maintenance agencies, users, and other stakeholders to ensure issues are swiftly resolved and operations run smoothly.

What will you do?

Fault Monitoring & Incident Response

  • Monitor and analyze fault alarms from the Network Management System to identify and respond to network failures
  • Perform first-level diagnostics and execute corrective actions to minimize service disruption
  • Escalate unresolved faults to the Maintenance Agency (MA) and follow up on incident resolution
  • Provide regular fault status updates to users until closure
  • Record and document all faults, resolutions, and response actions accurately

 

System & Network Maintenance

  • Conduct daily system health checks to ensure subsystems are operational
  • Perform preventive maintenance and apply MA-recommended servicing tasks
  • Support network reconfiguration and configuration of new services that do not require hardware changes
  • Update or restore firmware and software on network equipment and terminals

 

End-User & Equipment Support

  • Respond to user calls regarding faults, consultations, and service-related inquiries
  • Support software content management, remote wiping, and firmware updates for user terminals
  • Assist in confirming equipment failures, log retrieval, and submission of missing/lost equipment reports
  • Ensure repaired user equipment is patched, updated, and returned in a secure and functional state

 

Network Performance & Reporting

  • Collect and analyze network performance statistics regularly
  • Track subsystem performance and Maintenance Agency turnaround times
  • Prepare monthly updates and ad-hoc reports on system status and fault trends

 

Security & Access Management

  • Monitor for unauthorized network access and investigate potential security breaches
  • Desensitize and reload terminal software when required
  • Assist in tracking and reporting lost user terminals and coordinating service terminations
  • Coordinate site access with building owners for maintenance or fault resolution

 

Application & Vendor Support

  • Provide Level 1 software/application support and basic troubleshooting
  • Escalate complex application issues to vendors for Level 2 support

 

The ideal candidate should possess:

·       Singapore Citizenship with valid security clearance

·       Availability to perform 12-hour rotating shift duties (inclusive of weekends and public holidays)

·       Ability to work on-site and remain composed in high-pressure, outage, or emergency scenarios

·       Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset to engage with users and external agencies

·       Experience in a control centre, NOC, or similar operations environment is an advantage

·       Technical knowledge in one or more of the following domains:

          Networking: Layer 2 & 3 switching, network design, CCNA, CCNP

          Systems: VMware, Nutanix, Microsoft Active Directory, tape backups, Hyper-V

          Security: Cisco, VPN, Symantec, RSA, CA, Palo Alto, IM8, ISM, CISSP

          Data Centre Operations: Splunk, SolarWinds, operational compliance

·       Diploma or Degree in Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related field
