Job Summary
We are seeking a strategic and commercially minded Market Data Business Management to support our GROUP, mainly with Corporate Investment Banking (CIB) and Wealth Retail Banking (WRB) divisions. This role is responsible for managing the full lifecycle of market data services – sourcing, budgeting, compliance, and vendor management, lead a team and ensuring alignment with front office priorities and regulatory requirements.
The ideal candidate will combine strong vendor and financial management skills. With the ability to lead people, foster collaboration, and influence across departments. You will act as the key liaison between CIB/WRB stakeholders, vendors, and internal support functions (e.g. Technology & Operation, Finance, Legal), helping to ensure efficient, compliance and cost-effective access to data that underpins deal execution, client advisory, and investment research.
Strategy
• Oversee the entire life cycle of market data subscriptions, from demand management, procurement, contract negotiation, usage tracking, and renewal evaluations.
Business Partnering
• Serve as the dedicated Market Data liaison for CIB & WRB (front/middle/back office) stakeholders, understanding evolving data needs.
• Provide strategic guidance on data selection, platform optimization and cost efficiency.
• Translate front office data requirement into procurement and usage strategies.
• Support strategic initiatives such as application data demand due to business coverage, platform upgrades, digital advisory, and product expansion.
• Partner with COOs, business leads, and advisors to align data services with business goals.
People and team management
• Lead and mentor a team of market data analysts.
• Define team objectives and KPIs aligned with divisional strategy.
• Promote cross training, collaboration, and a continuous mindset.
• Manage workload allocation. Performance reviews, and career development.
Vendor & Product Management
• Centralise and standardise the subscription to ensure transparency and efficiency.
• Lead vendors negotiations and manage long term relationship with key data providers (e.g. Bloomberg, LSEG, FactSet, S&P. Morningstar)
• Evaluate new data sources for use in financial advisory, market intelligence, and client reporting.
• Oversee entitlements, renewals, and rationalization of redundant services.
Financial Management & Reporting
• Maintain the market data budget and cost allocation model across GROUP.
• Tracks spend, forecast usage trends, and report to senior leadership on cost drivers.
• Lead annual budgeting and coordinate with Finance and divisional COOs.
• Continuously improve inventory management and reporting tools.
Key Responsibilities
Compliance & Risk Management
• Ensure compliance with vendor licensing terms, including terms, including proper usage across advisors, bankers, analysts, and support teams.
• Respond to vendor audit and manged internal control processes.
• Implement and maintain tools to track usage and access rights (e.g. TRG, DACS)
Operational Efficiency
• Optimise data distribution and usage to align with front office workflows.
• Collaborate with Technology to improve delivery infrastructure (desktop, API, feed-based).
• Standardize onboarding/offboarding processes for market data access.
• Develop forecasting models to plan and optimise future data subscriptions.
Regulatory & Business Conduct

• Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.
Our Ideal Candidate
- Bachelors Degree in Business Finance, Data Management or a related field
- 7+ years of experience in market data management, vendor management and financial operations support roles
- Strong understanding of data usage with IB (E.G. M&A, Capital Markets) and Wealth Management (E.G. Client Portfolios, Research Platforms)
- Experience managing or mentoring staff, with strong leadership and delegation skills
- Track record of of manaing vendor negotiations & contract management
- Experience with budgeting, cost recovery models and invoice oversight
