This role is to provide legal advice and support to Singtel Group’s transnational M&A activities and existing investments in Regional Associates as well as new markets. He/she has to provide legal support for special projects and Singtel Group’s treasury functions and ensure Singtel Group’s interests are protected and furthered in various transactions.
Make An Impact By
- Provide legal expertise in M&A activities including reviewing, drafting and negotiating agreements/contracts such as sale and purchase/investment agreements, joint venture/ shareholder agreements.
- Support Regional Associates and other Singtel investments such as providing legal advice in relation to shareholder / board resolutions and regulatory matters.
- Provide legal support for treasury activities including reviewing and negotiating facility agreements for bilateral / syndicated loans, bond / MTN documentation.
- Taking a leadership role as part of the legal leadership team in initiating and driving legal department projects as required e.g. enhancing specific legal competencies or increasing digitalization and productivity.
- Manage external legal counsels, including giving instructions and managing external legal costs.
Skills To Succeed
- Bachelor of Laws (from Singapore or recognised UK universities). Admitted to the Singapore Bar.
- 10 – 12 years PQE, preferably in a leading law firm or legal department of a large multinational corporation, Partner level.
- Sound knowledge of legal advice in general corporate advisory work including company and contract law.
- Experience in advising on M&A transactions.
- Good business acumen and experience in various transactions such as M&A, corporate restructuring, JVs, capital markets etc.
- Excellent drafting skills.
- Familiar with regulatory environment in Singapore including Companies Act, Listing Manual and Takeover Code.
- Excellent business acumen and critical/analytical aptitude, with ability to act as advisor to Top/ Senior Management.
- Good interpersonal skills and able to interact and work across functions and levels.
- Able to handle and work under intense pressure and tight deadlines.
- Excellent communication, writing, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Team player, able to work independently with strong project and people management skills.
