Play a meaningful role in advancing OCBC’s sustainability journey across our corporate real estate portfolio. As a Sustainability Intern with Corporate Real Estate (CRE), you’ll contribute to initiatives that improve environmental performance, operational efficiency, and occupant well-being across offices and branches. You’ll gain hands-on exposure to sustainability frameworks, data analytics, and real-world projects, while working with diverse stakeholders to embed sustainable practices into how we design, operate, and manage our spaces.

How you succeed

To succeed in this role, you’ll bring a strong interest in sustainability, a willingness to learn, and an analytical mindset. You’re comfortable working with data, curious about how buildings operate, and keen to understand how sustainability principles translate into practical outcomes. You’ll collaborate closely with facilities management teams, design consultants, and internal stakeholders, and your ability to communicate clearly and work across disciplines will help you drive meaningful impact.

What you do

Your responsibilities will include:
Sustainability Strategy Support: support the development and implementation of Group sustainability initiatives across the corporate real estate portfolio
Green Building Projects: contribute to projects focused on Green Mark certifications for OCBC offices and branches
Performance Assessment: conduct carbon footprinting, energy, water, waste, and efficiency analyses for assets
Operational Improvements: partner with facilities management and design teams to identify opportunities to enhance operational efficiency and occupant well-being
Stakeholder Engagement: participate in sustainability-related engagement and coordination with internal and external stakeholders
Data & Reporting: support ESG data analytics, benchmarking, and reporting to track sustainability performance

Who you work with

Corporate Real Estate (CRE) under Group Corporate Services supports the Group by managing and enhancing OCBC’s workplaces and real estate assets. The team works at the intersection of sustainability, design, operations, and employee experience—ensuring our spaces are efficient, resilient, and future-ready. As an intern, you’ll be part of a collaborative team that partners closely with consultants, contractors, and internal business units to deliver tangible sustainability outcomes.

Who you are

• Currently pursuing an undergraduate or postgraduate degree in engineering, sustainability, built environment, or a related field
• Interested in sustainability and the built environment
• Good understanding of building and critical office systems (e.g. HVAC, electrical systems, renewable energy, water and waste management)
• Familiar with sustainability frameworks and standards such as Green Mark, WELL, or LEED
• Comfortable working with data and reporting tools (e.g. Excel, Power BI)
• Curious, self-motivated, and able to work well both independently and in teams

Learning Objectives

This internship will provide you with:
• Exposure to key sustainability frameworks and rating systems in real estate
• Hands-on experience in assessing energy, water, waste, and carbon performance
• Opportunities to collaborate with consultants, contractors, and property management teams
• Development of data analytics, benchmarking, and ESG reporting skills
• Experience communicating sustainability initiatives to internal stakeholders
