Finance Business Partnering to Segments

  1. GES (Global Enterprise Sales) including Singtel Global Offices
  2. GBDM (Government, Business Development & Mobility)
  3. Carrier Services (CS) under STSG Opco
  4. Digital Infra Co & Services (DI&S) under DICO Opco including Satellite

 

Director – Segment and SGO Finance, supports the VPs of the Opcos in the management of the segment and to be responsible for financial planning/analysis, reporting and ensuring proper governance & financial controls in the businesses in Singapore and the Singtel Global Offices.

 

The Director supports business profitability reviews, business cases, projects and strategic initiatives, as required.

 

Make an Impact by

  1. Manage the reporting, financial planning, forecasting and monthly/quarterly reviews of the CFUs performance: 
    •    Ensure reports are accurate, reliable, timely and meaningful
    •    Develop appropriate targets to improve business performance and enhance shareholder value/returns
    •    Track actual performance, highlight risks & opportunities and propose corrective action/adjustments
    •    Provide financial advice/viewpoints to CFU MD/VPs/Heads on a timely basis. Ensure that all financial implications of every major commitment are carefully considered 
  2. Bringing Segment Finance and SGO Finance together to leverage synergies and provide more deterministic insights, evaluation of relevance of forecasts and risks & opportunities. 
    Work with Opco MD/VPs/Heads to ensure efficient & proper processes/controls/risk management in various Opco functions & operations.SOP documentation to strengthen controls and processes in SGO and also for operational resilience during turnover.
  3. Review proposals for capital expenditure/investments, policy exceptions, business plans and Board papers for accuracy, validity and robust business justifications; ensure that financial evaluations are clearly communicated to the management prior to commitment or investment.
  4. Work with the Singtel shared services team in Procurement/Logistics, Billing & Credit management and tax to optimize cash flow and business risk/returns. Strongly supporting Group Finance Transformation project on the Future of Finance (including AI)
  5. Lead or manage ad-hoc projects e.g. re-organisation, acquisitions, divestments, business feasibility, etc.
  6. Exercise leadership over Opcos’ finance function including those in SGOs to motivate and develop team members to maximize their potential and contributions. Groom next level for effective succession planning and transition readiness within 12 months.
  7. Continuously identify opportunities to simplify, streamline or improve processes to make finance function more focused and efficient.

 

Skills for Success

 

  • Recognised degree in Accounting/Finance
  • Min 10 years of relevant working experience with some exposure to FP&A and business partnering
  • Sound knowledge of accounting and finance including IFRS
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to details
  • High proficiency in Financial Modeling
  • Working knowledge of other functional areas (Tax/TP, Billing & AR, AP, HR, legal, secretarial, sales & marketing, etc)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Proficient in SAP
  • CA qualification will be advantageous
  • Knowledge of telecommunication and/or multimedia industry will be advantageous.
