As a BigFix Engineer at OCBC, you’ll play a critical role in ensuring our systems and infrastructure are secure, efficient, and always available. How you succeed

We are seeking an experienced BigFix and Automation SME to lead enterprise-scale endpoint management, patch automation, Security Compliance and infrastructure automation initiatives across our IaaS environment. The ideal candidate possesses deep hands-on expertise with HCL BigFix, strong automation skills using Python, PowerShell, and APIs, and a solid understanding of infrastructure components across servers, virtualization, and cloud platforms.

This individual will serve as a senior technical authority, drive automation maturity, optimize operational processes, and ensure security compliance across hybrid infrastructure estates.

What you do

1. BigFix Platform Ownership

  • Lead end‑to‑end design, deployment, configuration, and administration of HCL BigFix across large-scale enterprise environments.

  • Develop advanced Fixlets, Tasks, Baselines, and automation scripts for patching, compliance, and endpoint configuration.

  • Manage BigFix lifecycle components: Inventory, Patch, Compliance, OS Deployment, and Relevance Language scripting.

  • Ensure reliability, performance optimization, and health monitoring of BigFix infrastructures.

2. Automation & Scripting

  • Build robust automation solutions using Python and PowerShell for routine infra operations, patch pipelines, configuration management, and API-integrated workflows.

  • Develop reusable automation modules, frameworks, and orchestration playbooks.

  • Integrate automation with ITSM tools, CMDB, CI/CD, and cloud-native services.

3. API-Driven Engineering

  • Design and implement API-based integrations with BigFix, cloud services, virtualization platforms, and enterprise tools.

  • Consume REST APIs for data extraction, reporting, compliance dashboards, and orchestration tasks.

4. IaaS & Infrastructure Operations

  • Work closely with Infra teams managing Windows/Linux servers, virtualized platforms (VMware/Hypervisor), storage, and network components.

  • Contribute to patch governance, compliance reporting, and vulnerability remediation across on-premises and cloud infrastructures.

  • Assist in OS lifecycle management, server builds, and configuration standardization.

5. Governance, Security & Compliance

  • Ensure all endpoint and server environments comply with regulatory, security, and audit requirements.

  • Collaborate with security teams to align patching cadence with vulnerability management priorities.

  • Drive operational excellence through process automation and compliance enforcement.

6. Stakeholder & Leadership Responsibilities

  • Serve as SME for BigFix and automation technologies across cross‑functional teams.

  • Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership in solution design and troubleshooting.

  • Present reports, dashboards, and automation outcomes to senior management.

Who you are

Technical Expertise

  • 5+ years hands-on experience with HCL BigFix.

  • Strong scripting skills in:

    • Python

    • PowerShell

    • Relevance Language (BigFix)

  • Experience working with REST APIs, JSON, YAML, and automation frameworks.

  • Solid understanding of:

    • Windows & Linux Server administration

    • VMware/Virtualization

    • Patch management and vulnerability remediation

    • Secure Configuration management and CIS Controls

    • IaaS operational processes and tooling

Preferred Additional Experience

  • Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, OCI) is a strong advantage.

  • Knowledge of DevOps tools (Jenkins, Git, Ansible, Terraform) is preferred.

  • Experience with enterprise-scale IT operations, security compliance, and ITIL processes.

Soft Skills

  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.

  • Ability to lead cross-functional projects with minimal supervision.

  • Excellent communication skills and stakeholder management.

  • Strong documentation and process optimization mindset.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience.

  • Relevant certifications (BigFix, Microsoft Windows, Linux, cloud) are a plus.
