Job Overview
We are looking for a Voice Infrastructure Engineer with strong hands‑on experience supporting and engineering voice solutions across Avaya, Microsoft Teams, Cisco Unified Communications, and Ribbon/Sonus Session Border Controllers. The ideal candidate will have a solid background managing both Unix/Linux and Windows Server environments, coupled with a deep understanding of high‑availability and resilient voice architectures.
This role is responsible for designing, building, and implementing automation solutions across voice and collaboration platforms. The engineer will leverage tools such as Cisco XML, Ansible, and RPA technologies like UiPath to streamline operations and improve platform efficiency. Responsibilities include developing APIs, creating end‑to‑end automation workflows, and contributing to CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure delivery. Proficiency in at least one programming language—such as Python, PowerShell, Ruby, Java, C++, C#, or Go—is essential for building automation frameworks and enhancing voice infrastructure applications.
Key Responsibilities

Administer and maintain Unix/Linux systems, Microsoft Windows Server, IIS, and cloud‑based orchestration platforms supporting Cisco, Avaya, Microsoft Teams, Ribbon SBC, and Verba voice environments.

Ensure the stability, security, and performance of voice infrastructure across on‑premise and cloud deployments.

Design, develop, and maintain automation workflows using tools such as Cisco XML, Ansible, Puppet, UiPath, and Python to streamline provisioning, configuration, and operational processes.

Build automated solutions that support release management, CI/CD integration, and infrastructure‑as‑code practices.

Utilize configuration and automation frameworks—including Cisco XML, Ansible, Puppet, UiPath, and Python—for consistent and efficient infrastructure management.

Automate release and deployment processes, and integrate with continuous integration/delivery systems and related infrastructure tools.

Develop and maintain infrastructure tools, applications, APIs, and automation frameworks to enhance manageability and scalability of voice platforms.

Create and maintain scripts using Python, PowerShell, Ruby, Java, C++, C#, or Go to eliminate repetitive tasks and enable operational self‑service.

Support business continuity and disaster recovery activities, including recommending and implementing automation strategies to strengthen resiliency.

Execute automation plans for voice technologies, ensuring alignment with architectural and operational standards.

Maintain consistency and standardization across voice systems through clear documentation, processes, and governance controls.

Lead technical knowledge‑sharing initiatives, including documentation, best practices, and internal training sessions.

Perform deep‑dive troubleshooting and remediation across Cisco, Avaya, Microsoft Teams, Ribbon SBC, and Verba platforms, including leveraging automated diagnostics when appropriate.

Collaborate across cross‑functional teams to resolve complex multi‑product issues and ensure seamless service integration.

Mentor junior and new engineers, helping grow team capability and technical competence.

Education: Relevant degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Experience:

Minimum 5 years hands-on experience with Microsoft Teams, Voice Infrastructure, Unix platforms, Microsoft Windows Server, IIS, or cloud-based orchestration platforms.

3–5 years designing, supporting, or operating high‑availability voice infrastructures.
-
Experience implementing redundancy, failover, clustering, and disaster‑recovery solutions for Cisco UC, Avaya Aura/CM, Microsoft Teams Phone, and Ribbon SBC.

Hands‑on exposure to multi‑site or hybrid (on‑prem + cloud) voice deployments.

Experience working with automation and configuration tools such as: Cisco XML, Ansible, Puppet, UiPath, Python scripting

Experience with automation tools such as Ansible and integration with Jenkins.
Certification: Relevant certifications in cloud technologies, automation, or system administration are preferred.
Knowledge and Skills:

Strong understanding of Wintel/Linux high availability solutions (clustering).

Familiarity with configuration management systems (SCCM, WSUS, Ansible, Puppet, Chef).

Experience in automating releases and working with continuous integration/delivery systems.

Demonstrable web development experience and ability to write APIs.

Proficiency in at least one programming language (Python, PowerShell, Ruby, Java, C++, C#, Go) at an intermediate level.

Excellent teamwork, interpersonal, and communication skills, with a strong sense of responsibility and attention to detail.

Ability to perform situational analysis and make informed decisions.
