The Category Manager, Group Procurement (Indirect) leads strategic sourcing and category management initiatives across indirect spend categories within Singtel Group. This role drives value creation through cost optimisation, supplier performance management, risk mitigation, and strong stakeholder collaboration, while ensuring compliance with procurement governance and policies.
Make an Impact by
1. Category Strategy & Strategic Sourcing
- Develop and execute category strategies aligned with Group business objectives.
- Lead end-to-end strategic sourcing initiatives, including RFP/RFQ processes, commercial negotiations, and contract finalisation.
- Identify cost optimisation and value creation opportunities from a Group and regional synergy perspective.
- Drive strategic supplier management initiatives in partnership with business stakeholders.
- Monitor market trends and supplier landscape to enhance category competitiveness and innovation.
- Partner closely with business units to align procurement strategies and provide advisory support on supplier selection and contract structuring.
2. Supplier & Contract Management
- Establish and manage strategic supplier relationships to ensure service excellence and continuous improvement.
- Ensure contract compliance, risk mitigation, and adherence to Singtel procurement policies and governance standards.
- Lead contract renewals, benchmarking exercises, and commercial reviews.
- Proactively manage supplier risks, escalation issues, and performance gaps.
3. Governance, Risk & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with Group Procurement policies and governance standards.
- Support audit reviews, risk assessments, and internal control processes related to procurement activities.
- Promote ethical, sustainable, and responsible procurement practices across the Group.
Skills for Success
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 8-10 years of experience of procurement experience, with strong exposure to both Direct and Indirect categories.
- Proven track record in managing indirect spend categories and delivering measurable cost savings.
- Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills.
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to manage regional tenders.
- Familiarity with procurement systems and contract management tools.
- Industry experience in real estate, property, or facilities management will be an advantage.
- Telecommunications industry experience will be an added advantage.
- Analytical, structured, and results-oriented approach to problem-solving.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
