Why Join
Protecting our customers’ assets and data is at the heart of everything we do at OCBC. As a Cyber Engineering – Risk professional, you’ll play a critical role in safeguarding our systems and networks from cyber threats. You’ll be part of a team that’s shaping the future of cybersecurity in the financial industry.
How you succeed
We are seeking a Senior Network Security Engineer to join the Cyber Technology Support (CTS) team. This role is responsible for the engineering, service delivery, and continuous modernisation of enterprise network and infrastructure security platforms.
The role focuses on engineering‑driven security services, ensuring platforms are designed, operated, and evolved in line with security‑by‑design principles, regulatory requirements, and enterprise architecture. The successful candidate will play a key role in driving network security capability uplift through automation, policy standardisation, and data‑driven improvements, while serving as a senior technical authority within CTS.
What you do
-
Provide senior‑level engineering ownership for enterprise network security platforms, including design quality, control effectiveness, and service reliability.
-
Act as an escalation point for complex network security issues, focusing on root cause analysis, long‑term remediation, and architectural improvement rather than reactive fixes.
-
Engineer and maintain secure configuration baselines, security policies, and control implementations aligned with internal standards and regulatory requirements (e.g. MAS TRM).
-
Contribute to security‑by‑design activities by participating in solution design reviews, technical assessments, testing, and onboarding of new network and security capabilities.
-
Drive modernisation initiatives across network security platforms, including adoption of platform‑native capabilities, simplification of architectures, and reduction of legacy operational complexity.
-
Partner with the CTS Team Lead and engineering peers to improve platform resilience, observability, and service quality using measurable performance and risk indicators.
-
Promote policy‑as‑code, automation, and repeatable engineering patterns to reduce manual effort and improve consistency across the security environment.
-
Develop and maintain engineering documentation, standards, and reference implementations to support scalable service delivery.
-
Support audits and regulatory reviews by demonstrating effective control design, implementation, and evidence through engineering assurance rather than manual processes.
Who you are
-
Minimum 10 years of experience in network security or cloud security engineering roles within enterprise or regulated environments.
-
Strong engineering experience with enterprise network security platforms, including firewalls, secure access technologies, and network segmentation.
-
Proven experience supporting or engineering security controls across hybrid cloud and on‑premise infrastructures.
-
Solid understanding of network security architecture, traffic flows, and control design, beyond device‑level configuration.
-
Experience working within regulatory and compliance‑driven environments, preferably in financial services (e.g. MAS TRM).
-
Demonstrated ability to drive engineering improvements, automation, or standardisation within security platforms or services.
-
Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and root‑cause analysis skills.
-
Effective communicator, able to work across engineering, architecture, and operations teams to influence outcomes.
