The incumbent will be part of the team providing strategic planning and development of various initiatives to Business Heads (e.g. Head of Global Private Banking (GPB)). This position will play a critical role in advancing BOS–GPB’s multi-year onshore market strategy and strengthening alignment with OCBC Group strategic priorities. The role involves confidential, complex strategy work, senior stakeholder engagement, and end-to-end strategy development.
Main Duties
In this role, your main duties and responsibilities will involve:

Drive strategic planning and long‑term goal setting
Define, assess, and execute the Bank’s strategic priorities (e.g. GPB – Global Private Banking) by conducting deep market, competitive, and regulatory analysis. Identify high‑value strategic opportunities, including new ventures, strategic partnerships, potential inorganic targets, and capability build areas, and work closely with senior business leaders to shape the strategic roadmap. -
Formulate hypotheses and lead structured problem‑solving
Independently develop hypotheses, conduct rigorous quantitative and qualitative analysis, and synthesize insights to guide senior management decisions. This includes evaluating organic and inorganic growth levers, assessing market entry or expansion strategies (including onshore build‑outs), and developing clear action plans to execute recommendations. -
Produce high‑quality strategic materials for senior leadership
Prepare board strategy papers, recommendation decks, and progress updates for senior management across the Bank and OCBC Group. Ensure insights are crisp, logically structured, and actionable, with clear implications for the business. -
Lead and design research initiatives
Lead end‑to‑end research workstreams, such as stakeholder interviews, client research, surveys, focus groups, expert consultations, and benchmarking studies- to support major strategy programs, including onshore market design and competitive differentiation. -
Serve as strategic partner
Act as a key resource for internal stakeholders across the Bank and OCBC Group, supporting strategic growth objectives, client experience improvements, and enhanced risk management. -
Drive cross‑functional alignment and execution
Collaborate closely with cross‑functional teams (e.g., Legal, Compliance, Risk, Finance, Technology, Operations) to gather requirements, coordinate delivery, and ensure alignment with overall Bank’s and Group’s strategy. Facilitate structured communication and ensure clarity across stakeholders. -
Lead project teams and manage cross-functional workstreams
Project-manage cross-functional teams to execute strategic initiatives (e.g. GPB onshore and offshore). Secure buy‑in from senior stakeholders and support implementation -
Manage rigorous project planning and performance tracking
Develop structured project plans, milestones, timelines, issue logs, and KPIs to measure progress against strategic goals. Regularly track, evaluate, and report progress to management, escalating challenges and proposing solutions proactively. -
Support strategic initiatives and regulatory interactions
Provide support for strategic discussions with internal stakeholders, OCBC Group, external consultants, and regulatory bodies. Contribute to regulatory submissions, materials, research, and cross‑entity alignment needed to deliver strategic outcomes for the business (e.g. GPB).
Requirements

Bachelor Degree

Exposure to Financial Industry is mandatory, strong Private Banking/Wealth Management exposure will be at an advantage.

Driven self-starter who is delivery focused and possess strong communication, influencing and presentation skills.

Familiar with relevant rules and regulations, those relating to local banking business.

8 to 12 years’ experience in consulting or corporate strategy

Has a strong understanding of PB processes, risk management and systems
