Job Purpose

As VP, Group Operational Excellence (Competency Building), you will lead the strategic design, development, and delivery of OCBC Group’s enterprise change methodology. You will manage a best‑in‑class curriculum centred on established change methodologies (e.g., Design Thinking, Lean, Agile, Lean Six Sigma, etc.), deliver flagship training/classes and workshops, establish and manage partnerships with renowned external learning institutions, and drive a vibrant internal community of practice that champions knowledge sharing and capability development.

You will combine instructional design expertise, facilitation mastery, and stakeholder leadership to uplift skills and achieve measurable adoption outcomes. The role is suited for a builder‑operator who is hands‑on, data‑driven, and impact‑oriented, with the executive presence to influence senior leaders and the practical know‑how to scale learning across diverse countries and functions.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and continuous refinement of OCBC’s internal change management curriculum, integrating best-of-breed methodologies and leveraging emerging technologies such as AI, Digital, and Data (ADD) to support and accelerate organizational transformation.

  • Personally deliver high-impact training sessions and workshops to build change capabilities across the workforce.

  • Establish and manage strategic partnerships with leading external institutions to enrich and validate the learning offerings.

  • Lead and nurture an internal Community of Practice that fosters knowledge sharing and collaboration on change methodologies.

  • Collaborate closely with senior leaders and cross-functional teams to ensure capability-building initiatives align with business priorities.

  • Define key performance indicators, analyse feedback, and continuously improve training programs to maximize learning effectiveness and business impact.

Desired Profile

At present, we are seeking experienced professionals with 8+ years in capability building and transformation within financial services. Candidates should combine strong change management expertise with proven skills in learning design, stakeholder engagement, and data-driven improvement.

In an ideal candidate, we look for:

  • 8+ years’ experience in capability building, L&D, or transformation, ideally within financial services.

  • Expertise in designing and delivering change management training.

  • Proven ability to build strategic partnerships and lead knowledge-sharing communities.

  • Strong facilitation, stakeholder management, and influencing skills with senior leaders.

  • Data-driven mindset leveraging learning analytics for continuous improvement.

  • Comfortable dealing with ambiguity and adapting approaches as needed.
