Step into the front line of cyber defence at OCBC. As a Cyber Security Operations Intern within the Technology Information Security Office (TISO), you’ll gain hands-on exposure to how the bank monitors, detects, and responds to cyber threats in a complex enterprise environment. You’ll work alongside security professionals to safeguard critical systems and data, while building practical skills that are highly relevant in today’s digital and risk-driven landscape.
How you succeed
To succeed in this role, you’ll be curious about emerging cyber threats and eager to understand how security operations function at scale. You’ll be analytical in your approach, comfortable working with alerts and data, and proactive in identifying patterns or anomalies. Your willingness to learn, coupled with clear communication and teamwork, will enable you to contribute effectively to day-to-day cyber security operations.
What you do
Your responsibilities will include:
- Security Monitoring & Response: monitor and respond to cyber security alerts generated by cyber defence and monitoring tools
- Threat Analysis & Triage: analyse alerts to identify trends, abnormalities, and potential threats, supporting timely and appropriate response
- Enterprise Health Monitoring: perform health monitoring of enterprise systems and assets to ensure visibility and resilience
- Detection Optimisation: identify opportunities to fine-tune detection rules and improve the effectiveness of security monitoring
- Operational Support: assist the Cyber Security Operations team in daily activities and ongoing improvement initiatives
Who you work with
You’ll be part of the Technology Information Security Office, a key function within Group Operations & Technology that is responsible for protecting the bank against cyber risks. The team works closely with Technology, Operations, and business stakeholders to maintain a strong security posture while enabling innovation and business continuity.
Who you are
- Keen to learn and explore cyber security operations in an enterprise environment
- Analytical, observant, and comfortable working with technical information
- Able to communicate clearly and work effectively within a team
- Currently pursuing an undergraduate or postgraduate degree
- Possess foundational technical knowledge in networks, operating systems, and cyber security concepts
- Exposure to cyber security tools is an advantage but not required
