Our Digital Tax team comprises both Tax and Technology subject matter experts, working in tandem to transform and automate business processes across areas such as corporate income tax, transfer pricing, and goods and services tax. Using a combination of off-the-shelf applications and bespoke products, we provide effective digital solutions to ease the burden of manual processes so that efforts can instead be channelled into navigating the modern-day Tax landscape.

We partner with clients and internal stakeholders across various industries to understand their business landscape and needs, adopting a data-driven approach in driving value creation. By combining our industry expertise and technology-powered solutions, we are able to harness the power of information to optimise business performance and commercialise data opportunities.

How will you value-add? 

A career in our Digital Tax Unit will provide you with the opportunity to work on Tax technology strategy and solutions. Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to: 

  • System implementation: Understanding business requirements, developing functional and non-functional specs and working closely with the business and tech developers. This includes new development or system enhancement of the existing technology solutions

  • Bridge the gap between tech and business users by aligning user requirements, developing BRDs, assisting project managers in delivery of projects end-to-end

  • Data and Systems Effectiveness: Embed the needs of Tax into IT systems to increase automation and data quality throughout tax processes; automate tax processing, tax compliance and reporting through various tax technologies

  • User Experience: Be responsible for the usability and suitability of the IT systems / solutions

 

About you 

  • A degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Data Analytics, Computer Science, Information Systems, or any related discipline is required

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience with a Corporate Tax background is preferable

  • Ability to work effectively and be hands-on in a fast-paced and dynamic environment

  • Good inter-personal and communication skills

  • Self-starter and keen to use any tools or technology to solve problems

  • Good understanding of software development life cycle

  • Development and/or implementation of tax technology solution

  • Knowledge in database systems (e.g, MS SQL, Postgre SQL, Oracle)

  • Good to have experience in RPA software (e.g., Blue Prism, Automation Anywhere, UiPath)

  • Knowledge and experience in business intelligence software (e.g., Tableau, Alteryx, PowerBI)

  • Knowledge of machine learning algorithm with Python and ‘R’ codes

  • Knowledge and experience in developing web-based solutions

  • Knowledge and experience in developing dashboards for data visualization and analysis

  • Knowledge and experience in providing end-to-end solutions and maintenance of internal systems (to be developed and used by clients)
