Why Join

Join OCBC’s Group Information Security & Digital Risk Management team and play a key role in safeguarding the Bank’s data and digital ecosystem. This role combines data engineering leadership with information risk awareness, enabling the organisation to harness data securely while strengthening resilience against information risks.

You will partner closely with business and technology stakeholders to deliver secure, scalable data platforms and drive data‑driven information risk insights and initiatives across the Group.

What you do

Data Engineering Leadership

  • Provide technical leadership on architecture, design, and implementation of data solutions.

  • Lead the design of enterprise data platforms, pipelines, and architecture.

  • Guide development of data pipelines (ETL/ELT) for structured and unstructured data.

  • Establish and enforce standards for data modelling, pipeline reliability, and solution quality.

  • Advise on real-time and batch data processing approaches (e.g. Kafka).

  • Drive automation, optimisation, and continuous improvement of data workflows.

  • Act as the subject matter expert (SME) for data engineering within the team.

Collaboration & Delivery Enablement

  • Partner with business and risk stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable data solutions.

  • Provide architectural guidance to ensure delivery aligns with defined standards and objectives.

  • Enable teams to deliver independently while maintaining consistency in design and approach.

Information Security & Digital Risk Management

  • Drive data‑driven information risk initiatives, including monitoring, analytics, and control enhancements.

  • Leverage data platforms to generate information risk insights and reporting for management decision-making.

  • Embed secure-by-design principles into data engineering practices.

  • Support risk governance, monitoring, and control enhancement, including regulatory compliance.

Who you are

Experience

  • 8+ years of experience in Data Engineering, Data Platforms, and Data Solutions.

  • Proven experience acting as a technical lead or senior engineer providing guidance to teams.

  • Experience in financial services or regulated environments preferred.

Technical Skills

  • Strong proficiency in SQL, Python, and data engineering concepts.

  • Experience with ETL/ELT tools (e.g. Talend, DBT, Dagster).

  • Knowledge of big data platforms (e.g. Hadoop, Spark, Hive).

  • Experience in data streaming technologies (e.g. Kafka).

  • Strong understanding of data modelling, transformation, and pipeline design.

Information Risk Knowledge

  • Good understanding of technology, information, and data risk concepts.

  • Awareness of data security controls (e.g. access control, encryption, data governance).

  • Familiarity with MAS Tech Risk Management Guidelines or regional regulatory requirements.

Leadership & Competencies

  • Ability to provide technical leadership through expertise and influence.

  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.

  • Analytical, proactive, and solution-oriented mindset.
