JOB SUMMARY

  • Handles all incoming inquiries for groups and events.
  • Qualify and convert corporate catering and group sales.
  • Meet / exceed individual sales target.
  • Work together as a team player within and inter-departments.

 

JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Exceed individual assigned sales goal and responsibility for team members for achievement of total sales budget. Derive creative upsell initiatives.
  2. Build rapport and effectively qualifies each business opportunity.
  3. Conduct daily telemarketing calls to solicit for leads.
  4. Conduct site inspection of hotel with guests and present unique selling points.
  5. Answers incoming group and catering inquiries/opportunities. To handle all incoming calls in the office within 3 rings and to follow up quotations within 24 hours.
  6. Determines availability of space and rates using revenue management tools. Seeks additional approval from Revenue Management/Director of Sales as needed.
  7. Exhausts all avenues to sell hotel through alternative dates and/or rates. If no alternative is determined, cross sell to another Marriott Hotel(s).
  8. Sales Administration. Ensure prompt attention and follow up on incoming phone calls, site inspections, proposal / inquiries. Accuracy in booking, commitments to customer on all sales/operational documents and adhering to the standards set by the department in execution and filing of all the said documents.
  9. Develops accurate contract/offer and sends to customer. Gains commitment of customer through signed contract/offer.
  10. Once signed contract/offer is received, completes accurate, detailed and accurate turnover documentation for Event Management.
  11. Maintains relationship with customer to increase repeat business opportunities.
  12. To be a team player motivating peers and subordinates in support of department goals, in sales and operations. Maintain professional interdepartmental relations and participate in hotel team building activities.
  13. To share responsibility for development and training of diret reports. This involves assisting in setting measurable goals for direct reports – Catering Executive / Coordinator Development
  14. Ensures that the sales staff properly follows pricing and selling strategies.
  15. To adhere to personal behavioural norms of intergrity such as grooming, ownership, accountability and responsibility.
  16. Perform any other duties assigned by immediate supervisor or department head according to changing business, economic, customer needs or restructure within Sales & Marketing department

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum Diploma in Hotel Management and/or Sales & Marketing Management.
  • At least 2 years of Managerial level or 1 year of Executive level in Hotel Conference Sales (Sales Centre) experience.
  • Strong overall sales skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Proficiency in meeting room set-ups, audio visual and other support services.
  • Understanding of contract management and legalities.
  • Understanding of sales strategy and need times as developed by revenue management.
  • Understanding and achievement of team.
  • Sales systems knowledge.
  • Demonstrates great leadership skills.
  • Demonstrates customer development and relationship management skills.
  • Able to start work within short notice period.
