As part of our in-house Tax team, you will work on the Group’s tax filings and partner Business to plan and structure transactions and manage tax exposure. You will also support on ad-hoc projects, both independently and as a team member, dealing with domestic and international tax issues. In the process, you will strengthen your direct and indirect taxation skills, and gain invaluable tax technical, commercial and legislative insights in the Telecommunication industry and the fast-evolving Digital Economy sector.
Make an Impact by:
- Manage a portfolio involving both Singapore and overseas direct and indirect tax reporting obligations (including handling and review of GST/VAT/corporate tax returns and attending to tax queries/audit).
- Work closely with both local and overseas Finance to ensure that the tax reporting obligations of the Group are met both in Singapore and overseas on a timely and accurate basis.
- Work with Finance to ensure proper income tax accounting and timely and adequate tax provisioning.
- Guide and support Business by providing advice on potential tax implications and mitigating measures for business arrangements such as cross-border transactions and e-commerce and digital economy product proposals and offerings.
- Active knowledge sharing with Business to ensure Business’ awareness of tax issues, risks and regulatory developments relevant to their operations, whilst establishing proper commercial knowledge and understanding.
- Provide tax support on projects (including mergers & acquisitions, new business segments and key product launches, health check reviews, etc)
- Monitor and keep track of significant developments and changes in tax legislation and administration both in Singapore and internationally.
Skills for Success:
- Accredited member of SCTP (Income Tax and/or GST).
- At least 4 years of tax work experience in both public accounting (Big 4) and commercial firms.
- Well-versed in Singapore corporate income tax and/or GST taxation matters. Candidates with experience in both will be preferred.
- Prior experience in business tax advisory work and process improvement will be advantageous.
- Strong project management, organisational and analytical skills.
- Good team player, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
