Job Summary
This JD outlines the expectations for a senior executive responsible for leading the development, implementation and growth of digital Retail Banking Propositions globally in Wealth and Retail Banking (WRB) business. This high-impact role will focus on defining the future of digital retail banking propositions, creating seamless, innovative and client centric solutions that will elevate the client experience, engagement & loyalty across 26 markets and client segments.
The Retail Banking Proposition Head is responsible for driving digital innovation and serves as a cross-functional change agent providing strategic leadership to deliver best-In-class retail banking and payment solutions to fuel growth in WRB. The job holder shall closely manage and lead in the various digital implementation of the global Retail Banking propositions ensuring alignment with customer needs, regulatory requirements, market trends and product excellence. The breadth of products supported includes deposits, credit cards, retail payments, personal loans, mortgages as well as enablement of global digital partnerships agenda.
This role requires a deep understanding of retail banking products and services as well as a sound appreciation of the regulatory landscape of the financial industry. It also requires the job holder to lead in transformation agenda to drive scalable, client centric solutions that meet the diverse clients’ needs in a volatile, uncertain, complex, ambiguous (VUCA) environment. The role will work closely WRB markets heads, Retail Banking Product and Technology delivery teams to ensure the successful digital delivery of Retail Banking products and services across the global footprint.
Key Responsibilities
Strategy
- Drive the long-term vision and digital innovation roadmap for retail banking propositions, partnerships and services, aligning with overall business objectives, digital transformation goals, customer needs and market & competitor dynamics.
- Continuously evaluate the digital & market trends and identify new opportunities to innovate, enhance and/or expand the suite of retail banking solutions, to cater to various customer segments ensuring a client centric approach to development.
- Champion a customer-first approach in digital delivery, using data and insights to prioritise feature development and product improvements.
- Lead the development of seamless, intuitive, and cohesive retail banking propositions & digital journeys serving the client continuum that comply with relevant regulatory frameworks and are secure, scalable and user-friendly.
- Drive product differentiation through new features, partnerships and digital innovations that enhance customer engagement & loyalty.
- Establish open banking/API approach to enable partnerships strategy.
Business
- Oversee the end-to-end digital development and launch of retail banking propositions & partnerships, ensuring they meet the local demands and align with regulatory and compliance obligations.
- Lead efforts to deeply understand customers needs, pain points and behaviours, ensuring that product propositions are designed to deliver exceptional experiences.
- Develop and manage a global digital delivery roadmap, ensuring timely delivery of key features and initiatives.
- Prioritize digital product & partnership initiatives and enhancements based on strategic impact, customer demand, and financial performance, ensuring alignment with digital retail banking product vision and customer needs.
- Lead innovation efforts to adapt to evolving market conditions, regulatory changes, and the changing needs of retail banking clients across the client continuum.
- Collaborate with Retail Banking Markets Heads, external vendors, counterparties/ product providers to design and deliver integrated digital solutions to enhance digital capabilities that address client and market needs across retail bank.
- Lead cross-functional teams, including Product Owners, Designers, Engineers, to deliver features and improvements on time and within scope.
Processes
- Establish and monitor key metrics to assess product & platform adoption, monetisation, and user satisfaction, making data driven decisions to optimise resources and deliver business outcomes that are aligned to the organisational goals.
- Lead initiatives to continuously improve platform stability, cybersecurity, operational resilience, ensuring that the platform delivers retail banking product solutions and services in a scalable, safe, and compliant manner.
- Manage the retail banking propositions digital delivery budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources to achieve strategic goals.
People & Talent
- Lead, mentor, and build a high-performing global team responsible for digital product development, management, and strategic initiatives, fostering a culture of innovation, excellence, collaboration, client centricity, continuous improvement, inclusivity, and accountability.
- Build strong relationships with cross functional teams, including stakeholders from technology, product, risk, control functions and partners to ensure seamless integration of digital initiatives across the Bank.
Risk Management
- Ensure all products & services, are developed with high standards of security, risk mitigation, and regulatory compliance.
- Identify weaknesses across the end-to-end process risk and control environment and monitor rectification as required.
- Ensure adequate and appropriate systems and controls are in compliance with Group and Business policies, procedures, standards and codes, including those governing all Risk types, Compliance, Technology and Operations, Finance and Reputation.
Governance
- Maintain awareness and understanding of the regulatory framework in which the Bank operates, and the regulatory requirements and expectations relevant to the role.
- Responsible for delivering effective governance as the first line of defence and collaborate closely with second and third line of defence to ensure well controlled ecosystem, meeting the requisite governance standards established within the Bank.

- Serve as the champion for Retail Banking Propositions delivery across the organization, working closely with Global & Country Product teams, Segment teams, Country Digital teams, and client-facing units.
- Collaborate with the country product teams and client segments to ensure effective communication, training, and support of digital enablement of retail banking products, partnerships and services across the markets.

Experience:
- 15+ years of experience in retail banking, product, payments and/or partnerships management, with at least 7 years in a senior leadership or global role.
- Proven track record of developing, launching and managing retail banking propositions.
- Deep understanding of the global retail banking landscape, including customer segments, regulatory environments, and competitive dynamics.
- Proven experience in leading cross-functional teams, driving alignment across stakeholders, and managing complex, multi-market projects.
- Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with a focus on customer-centric innovation.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Strong analytical skills with a solid understanding of data-driven decision-making and performance tracking.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and effectively prioritize multiple initiatives.

Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, economics, or a related field (MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred).
- Relevant professional qualifications (e.g., CFA, CFP, or equivalent) are a plus.
