Make an Impact by:

  • Responsible for the Carrier Ethernet (CE) infrastructure network in its implementation, testing, security, managing and maintenance of which include the following tasks:
  • Review the system alarms and system log messages to identify the system anomalies and take corrective actions.
  • Schedule and assign resources to implement the preventive and corrective maintenance activities.
  • Review of unauthorized access, failed attempted and abnormal behaviors, etc.
  • Service verification and upgrade procedure verification for software patches and new software release.          
  • Authorization and enforcement of security measures on physical, network and system accesses.
  • Review and timely deployment of security patch and upgrade.
  • Closely monitor network health/traffic for possible attack, overload, or congestion.
  • Timely escalation and investigation on service outages and security breaches.
  • Coordinate with TAC/NOC teams to diagnose and remedy network faults and inquiries from customers.
  • Work with Team Leader and Planning to meet system delivery milestones for network evolution.
  • Engage with back-line support and/or with vendor’s support to diagnose and rectify technical problems as well as conduct regular meetings with suppliers for ongoing projects and operation issues and solutions.
  • Generate documents and reports of the system availability, quality of services and resource utilizations.
  • Generate and maintain network topological diagrams and databases for operational and diagnostic purposes.
  • Manage internal/external audit exercises to ensure the compliances with network operation policy.
  • Prepared to be available for 24 x 7 standby support and/or Shift work schedule.
  • Take on additional responsibilities as and when line requires.

 

 

Skills for Success:

 

  • Diploma in Computer Engineer/Science/IT
  • Preferably with 1 or 2 years of relevant working experience .
  • Knowledge of core and access transmission network using SDH, OTN and IP technologies.
  • Knowledge and hands on experience of managing fiber optic based network operations.
  • Knowledge of scripting languages such as PHP, Java, Python, Perl.
  • Able to work during non-office hours to support network incidents and restoration.
  • Willing to be placed on call on 24×7 basis

  • Good working knowledge of PC applications such as MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Good communication skills, especially drafting of an email, keen to learn and a team player.
  • This role requires a mix of technical knowledge, communication abilities, and flexibility in work hours. It involves not only technical aspects but also administrative tasks like budgeting, reporting, and customer support.
