Position Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Project Manager to oversee and execute system projects within our Global Transaction Banking division. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in project management, a deep understanding of transaction banking systems, be responsible for managing the full project lifecycle, ensuring the successful delivery of projects on time, within scope, and within budget. This role is crucial in ensuring the successful delivery of projects that enhance our payment capabilities and improve client experiences. Additionally, the Project Manager will play a key role in uplifting project management practices across the organization, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and efficiency.
- Project Management, Planning and Execution:
- Lead and manage payment system projects from initiation to closure, ensuring alignment with business objectives and stakeholder expectations.
- Develop detailed project plans, including scope, timelines, resources, and budgets.
- Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies to ensure successful project delivery.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams, including IT, operations, compliance, and business units, to ensure seamless project execution.
- Stakeholder Management:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including technology, product, sales, operations, risks and compliance, to gather requirements and ensure project alignment with business needs.
- Act as the primary point of contact for stakeholders, providing regular updates on project status, risks, and issues.
- Facilitate communication and collaboration among stakeholders to ensure alignment and support for project initiatives.
- Gather and document project requirements from stakeholders, ensuring clarity and mutual understanding.
- Process Improvement:
- Assess and enhance existing project management practices, tools, and methodologies to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
- Implement best practices in project management, including Agile and Waterfall methodologies, as appropriate for the organization.
- Conduct post-project evaluations to identify lessons learned and areas for improvement.
- Compliance and Risk Management:
- Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize impact on project timelines and deliverables.
- Monitor project progress and make adjustments as necessary to ensure successful outcomes.
- Ensure all projects comply with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
- Budget Management:
- Manage project budgets, ensuring optimal allocation of resources and adherence to financial constraints.
- Prepare financial reports and forecasts for project expenditures.
- Quality Assurance:
- Ensure that all project deliverables meet quality standards and comply with regulatory requirements.
- Implement best practices in project management and continuously seek opportunities for process improvement.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including project plans, status reports, meeting notes, and lessons learned.
- Prepare and present project updates to senior management and other stakeholders.
- Training and Support:
- Provide training and support to team members and end-users on new payment systems and processes.
- Facilitate knowledge transfer and ensure smooth transitions during project handovers.
Qualifications
Requirement:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Information Technology, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
10+ years of project management experience, preferably in the financial services or banking sector, with a focus on payment systems. Proven track record of managing complex projects from inception to completion. Strong understanding of global payment systems, transaction banking, and regulatory requirements. Proficiency in project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall) and tools (e.g., MS Project, JIRA, Trello). Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent project management certification is a plus.
