As a Lead Systems Engineer, you will serve as the technical lead throughout the entire project lifecycle, from pre-sales and bid preparation to design, execution, and post-sales support. You will collaborate with sales teams to develop tender documents, select strategic partners, and prepare bid submissions, including cost estimates, ensuring that proposed solutions are both technically innovative and financially viable.

You will take full ownership of the technical design, execution planning, and resource management, ensuring high-quality, on-time delivery within budget. Your role will also involve providing ongoing support to the Engineering and Maintenance teams, guaranteeing efficient, cost-effective solutions while maintaining the highest levels of customer satisfaction and technical excellence.

 
What will you do? 

  • Lead and manage Advanced Sensors System projects as the Technical Lead, ensuring successful project delivery from inception to completion, including cost estimates, resource planning, and management to ensure the project stays within budget and scope.
  • Collaborate with project team members to implement and deliver projects, coordinating efforts across multiple teams to meet project goals and timelines.
  • Assist the Project Manager in engineering aspects of project implementation, including system design, risk identification and mitigation, and ICIT (Installation, Checkout, Integration and Testing).
  • Provide SME-level support for systems configurations, troubleshooting errors/problems, monitoring system performance, and testing of systems to ensure requirements are met.
  • Proactively identify and implement solutions to prevent problems from arising, and reactively provide solutions to resolve any technical issues/challenges
  • Monitor and measure the performance and availability of systems proactively, implementing corrective actions as necessary to improve performance, system reliability and service level availability.
  • Respond promptly to incidents that requires help, performing root cause analysis and providing both temporary and permanent resolutions. Provide timely status updates to stakeholders and maintain clear and open communication throughout the resolution process.
  • Implement and manage service continuity measures, including backup/restore procedures and disaster recovery plans, to ensure uninterrupted operations and data integrity.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for all aspects of system implementation, ensuring clear records for future reference and compliance.
  • Engage with external partners and users to gather feedback, refine requirements, and ensure alignment with business needs and project objectives.
  • Collect and analyse business and/or application requirements to plan, design, install, test, and implement systems that meet customer commitments and performance expectations.
  • Assist in the preparation of bids, tender proposals, and solution presentations, working closely with sales and business development teams to develop accurate cost estimates, resource plans, and compelling technical solutions that meet client needs while ensuring feasibility and financial viability.
  • Establish & promote effective business operations across multiple countries or regions, ensuring alignment with global business strategies and coordinating across diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Obtain and maintain key certifications for partnerships with major vendors, ensuring that technical solutions are up-to-date and meet industry standards.
  • Analyse and track emerging technology trends and evolution, ensuring that systems and solutions remain competitive and innovative.
  • Contribute to team development and capability building, ensuring continuous growth and knowledge-sharing to enhance technical expertise within the team.

 

The ideal candidate should possess: 

  • Degree or Diploma in Engineering
  • 10+ years of hands-on experience in leading or contributing to major engineering projects
  • Proven expertise in implementing complex engineering/infrastructure projects, from design through to execution and delivery.
  • Experience in system administration, maintenance, and troubleshooting, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
  • Specialized knowledge of Advanced Sensor Systems (e.g. Radars, Electro-Optics) is an added advantage.
  • Good understanding of Python, Ansible, and automation tools is highly preferred.
