Overview
The Senior Project Manager is responsible for the managing and implementing of large-scale IT projects with quality, within scope and to ensure deliverables are on time and conform to processes and standards meeting customer’s requirements.
What will you do?
Project Delivery
- Analyse and document requirements by liaising with stakeholders
- Establish and prepare project plans, risk management plans, milestones, and deliverables
- Manage daily project implementation (schedules, budget, manpower, quality)
- Define scope and control changes to avoid scope creep
- Escalate project overruns, resource issues, and integration challenges to PD/SDD
- Oversee integration of project components (hardware, software, testing, migration, data conversion)
- Monitor critical paths and adjust project schedules as needed
- Manage project resources (hardware, software, human resources, logistics)
- Ensure project documentation meets requirements and quality standards
- Conduct performance reviews and post-implementation evaluations
Customer & Vendor Management
- Negotiate with vendors and teams to ensure adequate resources
- Build relationships with users, technical staff, and management
- Manage contracts and subcontractors
- Negotiate change requests (effort, schedules, prioritization)
- Maintain open communication with customers on project issues and clarifications
Business Development
- Identify opportunities for service expansion and improvements
- Engage in pre-sales activities to support business growth
Team Management
- Ensure team tasks and deliverables meet schedule
- Track, monitor, and delegate tasks effectively
- Provide leadership and clear instructions to the team
- Ensure business needs and priorities are well communicated
- Participate in leadership activities and performance coaching
- Monitor and improve team performance through coaching and feedback
The ideal candidate should possess:
Skills & Experience:
- 7-10 years of IT experience in Project Management
- Strong leadership and team management capabilities
- Expertise in project planning, risk management, and resource allocation
- Ability to negotiate with vendors and manage contracts
- Experience in customer engagement and stakeholder management
- Proficiency in English and Chinese (for communication with diverse stakeholders)
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with pre-sales activities and business development
- Knowledge of IT service delivery processes and quality standards
Educational Qualification:
- Degree or higher in a relevant field
