Within CIB Markets, the Modelling & Analytics Group (‘MAG’) is accountable for design, development and delivery of real-time pricing models, risk models, and core infrastructure, enabling pricing, market data, intra-day risk reporting capability, and portfolio level analytics including reporting and capital optimization.

Key Responsibilities

 

The role of Associate Director, CIB Markets DQM Model Risk Management is a new role focusing primarily upon business risk management and governance tasks for CIB Markets-owned models, applications and services (referred to as Deterministic Quantitative Methods (‘DQMs’)), with these activities critical to supporting independent review of DQMs, governance approval, regulatory engagement, and business activities in accordance with PRA Supervisory Statement SS 01/23.

You’ll work on diverse markets projects and dedicated applications to support individual teams to process millions of trades and thousands of users. We’re looking for highly qualified individuals to deliver robust, high-performance software and quantitative analytics to support pricing and risk management requirements.

  • Engage and work in collaboration with all relevant partners throughout the model risk cycle, with particular focus on identification, capture of expert knowledge of existing DQMs, and facilitation of independent review and other relevant model risk governance processes.
  • Build a relationship with senior stakeholders and engage with them to assist in delivery of programmes and models to required standards.
  • Use detailed understanding of CIB Markets DQMs and DQM networks to support activities which rely on this understanding, including accuracy and completeness of the CIB Markets DQM inventory.
  • Support DQM lifecycle planning and facilitation of DQM delivery as well as broader programmes which include DQM delivery requirements.
  • Business management/chief of staff support.
  • Manage and coordinate business risk activities including annual risk control assessments.
  • Applying the knowledge of the risk and control environment to support operational and model risk management activities

 

Skills and Experience

Our Ideal Candidate – 

  • 2+ years of banking industry experience in a financial markets environment
  • Experience with governance, oversight and controls in a banking environment, with model risk specific experience an advantage
  • Knowledge of financial market products, market conventions and regulatory requirements is a plus.
  • Strong stakeholder management and project coordination skills
