Singtel is seeking an experienced Associate Director, Cyber Engineering to lead the technical development and delivery of our cybersecurity products.

This role is responsible for overseeing the engineering team, ensuring products and platforms are designed to the highest security standards, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to bring innovative and effective cybersecurity solutions to market.

The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in cybersecurity engineering, combined with leadership and project management expertise.

Make an Impact by

  • Technical Leadership: Lead and mentor the cybersecurity engineering team, overseeing the design, development, and testing of cybersecurity products to ensure they meet high standards of performance, security, and reliability.
  • Product Development: Drive the engineering process for cybersecurity products, from concept through development and release, aligning technical efforts with product roadmaps and timelines.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with product management, sales, and customer success teams to translate customer needs into technical requirements and prioritize features.
  • Quality Assurance: Implement best practices in software engineering and security, ensuring all products are tested rigorously and meet regulatory standards (such as ISO 27001, NIST, and PDPA, GDPR).
  • Innovation and Optimization: Research and implement new cybersecurity technologies and tools to enhance the effectiveness, scalability, and resilience of products.
  • Project Management: Oversee multiple engineering projects, ensuring they stay on schedule and within budget while meeting quality benchmarks.
  • Risk and Compliance: Ensure product designs incorporate risk mitigation strategies and comply with relevant cybersecurity regulations and standards.
  • Performance Monitoring: Define and track key performance metrics for engineering projects, optimizing processes based on feedback and results.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Act as a technical liaison with stakeholders, including executives, partners, and customers, providing regular updates on product engineering progress and addressing any technical concerns.

 

Skills for Success 

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Engineering, or a related field
  • Experience: 7+ years of experience in cybersecurity engineering and solutions, with a minimum of 3 years in a management or leadership role.
  • Technical Expertise: In-depth knowledge of cybersecurity technologies (e.g. DDOS Protection, WAF, SSE, SIEM, SOAR, EDR), SecOps methodology and software engineering principles.
  • Product Engineering Expertise: Experience with product engineering processes, including Agile and DevOps methodologies, and a track record of delivering complex technical products on time.
  • Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical skills with the ability to diagnose complex technical issues and devise effective solutions.
  • Certifications: Industry certifications (such as CISSP, CISM, or CISA) are a plus.
  • Leadership and Communication: Strong leadership skills with proven experience in managing technical teams, combined with excellent communication abilities to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Attention to Detail: A meticulous approach to quality control and an unwavering commitment to product security and reliability.
