- Perform maintenance work on transmission networks / equipment, including SDH / DWDM / ASON / CE etc, supporting international voice and data services.
- Support on-site network / equipment installation and commissioning testing of the terrestrial network as a whole (at various data gateways and cable stations)
- Perform pre-service testing (on-site or remotely) and implementation of transmission links / bearers, including C-plus and bilateral bearers at 2M, 45M, STM1 or higher, for international voice and data services.
- Install, implement and maintain grooming trunks to Domestic Network from ILC gateway nodes.
- Install, implement and maintain interconnection trunks between equipment in Cable Station & ILC Gateway and Domestic Networks.
- Attend to and rectify faults pertaining to terrestrial network and its associated equipment.
- Liaise with other departments in SingTel, overseas telecommunication administrations including SingTel Global Office, to investigate and isolate faults.
- Follow-up with vendors to investigate faults related to systems and its associated equipment.
- Maintain equipment store, equipment spare parts records and equipment asset.
- Perform installation, acceptance testing and commissioning of new network and its associated equipment and management systems
- Updating and maintaining equipment and network / circuit records.
- Monitor equipment / systems performance and prepare statistical reports for equipment /system performance degradation analysis.
- Work closely with respective Engineering Teams on the Equipment/System User Acceptance Testing before live implementation for Network Upgrade, New Products Testing/ New platform development Projects etc
- Perform advanced level of troubleshooting using network management tools, and ensure unresolved cases are escalated to the vendor for investigation and follow up. Provide RFO to respective customer fronting teams to update customer of the resolution.
- Work closely with different resolver teams to ensure service is restored at the shortest possible time
- Perform any other duties (consultation related activities, escalation etc) as a transmission subject matter exper
Skills for success:
- Minimum qualification of IT Diploma in Electronics, Telecommunication or Computer Science
- Relevant working experience in in the areas of Technical Operations and/or Service Delivery in a Large Enterprise or a Service Provider.
- Possess Hands-on experience in WAN and LAN. Good Working Knowledge of various transmission technologies such as SDH/SONET, EoSDH, DWDM or OTN.
- Able to be re-called, as and when necessary, during off duty hours to attend to network / system faults and service restoration.
- ITIL Foundation. Good understanding of Change, Incident & Problem management.
- Enthusiastic and passionate about innovation, exploring new ways of doing things to improve process and customer service.
- Team worker, good interpersonal and communications skills.
- Must be customer focus.
