We are seeking a sharp, adaptable, and forward-thinking individual to support the regional growth of Transaction Banking division. This role will be instrumental in building and embedding strong business control frameworks across Cash & Trade, with a clear emphasis on regulatory interpretation, control design, and regional product governance.

What you do

The ideal candidate will bring deep knowledge of regulatory obligations, particularly MAS requirements, and the ability to assess and advise on compliance impacts across multiple markets. This role also demands a strong ability to opine confidently on risk assessments, institutionalize knowledge, support Group-led reviews, and explore new technologies to improve efficiency

1. Regulatory Interpretation & Advisory

  • Interpret and apply MAS regulations as the primary compliance baseline
  • Provide well-structured, risk-based opinions and justifications during regulatory reviews, internal audits, external due diligence assessments, and questionnaires.
  • Support division in addressing Group-led control reviews, assessments, and attenuation submissions.

2. Control Frameworks & Governance

  • Serve as the first line of defense for GTB business, embedding control discipline across key processes and product lifecycles.
  • Design, implement, and institutionalize scalable control frameworks, standards, and templates; knowledge sharing with the region
  • Support Product program governance processes.
  • Build and manage internal knowledge repositories and frontline guides.

3. Culture & Risk Awareness | Monitoring, Testing & Issue Management

  • Conduct or support RCSA, issue management, control testing, and incident reviews.
  • Develop control dashboards, risk trends summaries for governance forums

4. Regulatory Horizon Scanning

  • Monitor & interpret emerging regulatory themes & translate them into actional business guidance in areas of digital assets & Tokenization, 3rd party Risks, Sanctions & Geopolitical Risk, AI governance, Fair dealings, data privacy & localization

Qualifications

 

Who you are

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Risk or Legal
  • 6-10 years of relevant experience in business controls, compliance, operational risk or transaction banking 
  • Strong working knowledge of MAS regulations 
  • Proven ability to interpret, assess and clearly articulate regulatory & compliance impacts
  • Experience with regulatory assessments, internal reviews & product governance
  • Familiarity with RCSA, control testing & risk remediation processes
  • Strong communication & stakeholder engagement skills
  • Regional experience, knowledge of transaction banking, certifications such as CAMS & CIA are advantageous
  • Ability to manage ambiguity, navigate across teams & deliver under tight deadline
