How you succeed
The role sits with the Group Property Management division to drive the decarbonization of operational emissions. To succeed in this role, you’ll need to collaborate with various stakeholders across the bank and external ecosystem partners to identify and mitigate operational carbon and environmental impacts. You’ll also need to stay up-to-date with the latest sustainability trends and regulations, and develop strategies to integrate sustainability into our business operations.

What you do

  • Sustainability Integration: Lead the integration of sustainability strategies into current and new asset enhancement initiatives, ensuring alignment with relevant green building standards and benchmarks.

  • Data Management: Synthesize and analyze large volumes of sustainability data, enhancing the efficiency of data collection processes to support informed decision-making.

  • Collaboration: Foster strong working relationships with internal business units and external ecosystem partners to develop systematic approaches to enhance sustainability reporting processes, deploy pilot tests solutions and build knowledge capacity.

  • Certification Knowledge: Maintain familiarity with BCA Greenmark incentive schemes and certification requirements, industry enachmarks such as CRREM and SBTi, alongside a robust understanding of energy optimization in commercial buildings.

  • Innovation and Evaluation: Exhibit a curious mindset to explore new solutions and opportunities for decarbonization, with the ability to critically evaluate the effectiveness of proposed solutions.

  • Communication Skills: Demonstrate strong writing and presentation abilities to effectively communicate sustainability initiatives and outcomes to stakeholders.

  • Data Analytics Passion: Show enthusiasm for data analytics and visualization, leveraging systems to draw actionable insights from data.

  • Risk Assessment: Experience in risk assessment and the administration of risk procedures, particularly within a financial institution, will be considered an asset.

Who you are

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.

  • Relevant certifications such as GMAAP or SCEM.

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in green building engineering, sustainability strategy implementation, and data management.

  • Strong analytical skills with a passion for sustainability and innovation.

  • Ability in keeping track of sustainability trends, regulations, and best practices

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills

  • Ability to work collaboratively with various internal and external stakeholders

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
