About the Role:
The AVP/VP of Marketing Strategy and Operations will help shape and execute the marketing strategy for OCBC’s retail banking division. This position requires a holistic thinker with a strong background in marketing who is capable of bridging high-level marketing strategy with campaign management and daily operations.
The successful candidate will play a key role in boosting our retail banking brand’s presence, equity, and trust while driving customer engagement and acquisition through various initiatives. We’re looking for a versatile marketer with a broad range of cross-functional skills who thrives in a dynamic environment. He/she will work on a variety of projects, from planning go-to-market strategies and running advertising campaigns to conducting market research and boosting operational efficiency.
This role involves regular interaction with various teams across the retail banking division and local marketing teams across Asia.
Key Responsibilities:
Marketing Strategy and Planning:
· Steer marketing initiatives by defining their direction, targets, audiences, messaging and tactics, ensuring everything runs smoothly from creative development to media execution.
· Craft consumer-centric integrated marketing plans, backed by solid testing and measurement frameworks, and lead special projects beyond campaigns that align with our strategic goals.
· Be a key strategic partner for our marketing team and foster deeper understanding of trends, best practices and market dynamics across the organisation.
· Collaborating with media agencies and data analysts, track campaign performance and ROI, using insights to refine strategies and share learnings with the team.
· Working closely with the Marketing Head, manage and report on marketing budgets and overall performance.
· Foster innovation by exploring new channels and audience-centric tactics.
· Manage the marketing budget by tracking expenditures to ensure cost-effectiveness and alignment with financial goals.
· Team up with market research agencies to dive into customer needs and behaviours, using that data to inform our marketing strategies and understand the long-term impact of marketing on the business and brand health.
Product Marketing:
· Market financial products and services, conducting competitive analysis and market segmentation to identify opportunities for enhancement, differentiation, and improved user experience through content and communications, and measure effectiveness to optimise and inform future strategies.
Growth Marketing:
- Develop and execute strategies to acquire new customers and deepen existing relationships, leveraging data analytics and innovative marketing tactics to maximise growth and revenue.
Brand Marketing:
· Strengthen OCBC’s retail banking brand by leading thought-leadership initiatives and campaigns, and manage efforts to build brand equity, trust, and foster customer loyalty.
Operational Excellence:
· Streamline marketing operations to improve efficiency and effectiveness in campaign execution, establish and refine marketing best practices and processes, including the development of standard operating procedures.
Qualifications
Key Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience. Experience in Financial Services or Advertising in a strategy/planning role are a plus.
- Strong understanding of marketing principles, strategic planning, brand management, customer behaviour and market trends in financial services.
- Proven track record of developing and executing successful marketing strategies and campaigns.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.
- Solution-oriented mindset and strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Exceptional stakeholder management and interpersonal skills to effectively engage, inspire and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Proficiency in marketing tools and software, including CRM systems, data analytics platforms, and content management systems.
- Comfortable working in a regional context, with an understanding of cultural nuances, business practices, and market dynamics across countries in Asia.
