Business Analyst

The Business Analyst is part of the Business Solutioning team in technology department who serves as a liaison to business stakeholders, Business and Operation Managers, Product Owners in various Business Units across the OCBC group. Key business stakeholders include Bank of Singapore, Consumer Financial Services, Global Markets.
How you succeed
To succeed in this role, you’ll need to be able to elicit business initiatives across various business units and design an end-to-end solution for the Group Wealth Platform.
What you do
– Solution Design: Design IT functional solutions for business initiatives or projects. Construct the desired solutions by considering the concept of end-to-end, reusability, high availability, forward looking and lasting value.
– Requirements Gathering: Work with stakeholders across various departments across the region to gather and document detailed business requirements
– Subject Matter Expert of responsible functional domains for Portfolio management, analytic & valuation, Order management areas such as equity trading.
– Process Analysis and Optimization: Analyze existing operational processes to identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and areas for improvement through digitalization.
– Explore new ideas/new tools to address the key EPICs and perform first level functional validation of new ideas/new tools.
– Provide directions and clarifications to project team during the development phase of the project to any queries pertaining to the FSD or BRD. Where necessary, re-engage business SMEs to revise requirements and/or for the acceptance of alternative solutions, due to design or implementation constraints encountered.
– Collaborate with Quality Assurance team to define the test strategy and approach and provide clarifications to queries during the testing phase, to both the Quality Assurance team and Business Testers during UAT.
Who you are
– At least 6 years of relevant working experience as a Business Analyst or Solution Manager in Wealth Management, Private banks, Investment banks, Asset Management Firms or relevant financial institutions. Have a broad understanding of the wealth management industrial trend and practices.
– Excellent front-to-back knowledge of Investment products and/or wealth management products
– Good understanding of the regulatory requirement and business rules in wealth management domains.
– Good understanding of Portfolio Management, valuation and analytics and understanding of platforms such as Temenos Trible’A Plus (TAP).
– Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
– Proficient in the documentation of use cases, visual modeling, business processes, in the business requirements document and functional specifications document.
– Excellent inter-personal and communication skills, with strong ability to manage and align expectations of senior level business stakeholders across different business units to accept solutions proposed by project team.
– Good knowledge of system engineering concepts, data and information structures in an IT system environment.
– Competent in IT solutioning processes such as effort estimation, vendor management negotiation
– Degree in computer science, software engineering and/or investment discipline preferred.
