JOB SUMMARY
What is the Opportunity?
- Reporting to the Global Head, Group Transformation, we are seeking a talented and passionate individual to join as the Business Planning Manager, Group Transformation Office. The Group Transformation Office (which forms part of the Strategy and Talent function) is accountable for defining and ensuring oversight of the Bank’s transformation and change agenda.
What will you do?
- You will be responsible for providing day-to‐day planning, coordination, and execution support to the Global Head, Group Transformation with the goal of enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of the office mandate. You will also play a part in determining and executing strategic initiatives that drive the Bank’s transformation agenda. In addition, you will advise on plans, roadmaps and business cases to address significant strategic initiatives in alignment to the overall Strategy. This is a unique and challenging position requiring a combination of strategic thinking and strong analytic capabilities; accompanied by solid communication, interpersonal and administrative skills.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategy
- Awareness and understanding of the Group’s Strategy, and all related business and functional strategies.
- Advise on, recommend, and help facilitate significant strategic initiatives that advance the agenda and effectiveness of the Group Transformation Office, in partnership with key stakeholders as appropriate.
- Provide strategically aligned leadership and direction to cross-business/ function initiatives during early stages, on request from Global Head, Group Transformation, or business/ domain/ geography leaders.
- Own and drive Group Transformation strategic initiatives required to deliver Group Transformation’s agenda/objectives cross-business/function, in collaboration with required stakeholders, such as Strategy & Talent BPMs, HR, and Communications, etc.
Business
- Awareness and understanding of the wider business, economic and market environment in which the Bank operates.
- Assist the Global Head, Group Transformation to manage and control Group Transformation budget and expense in conjunction with the Finance.
- Prepare reports, presentations, papers, and review material to support discussions and decision making at various forums (e.g. Group MT, Committees).
- Ensures the Group Transformation team delivers their objectives against the Group Transformation ad Strategy & Talent agenda and drives continuous improvements of the team’s ways of working.
- Facilitate collaboration and alignment within/across teams, by building alliances across senior stakeholders and deepening business/function’s stakeholder relationships, including (but not limited to): Strategy & Talent MT, Technology & Operations MT, Finance, HR, Supply Chain Management, enabling efficient and effective execution of Group Transformation agenda.
- Represent Group Transformation function at relevant working groups / MT meetings, as required.
People & Talent
- Champion and act as a role model of the Group’s values and culture. Lead through example and build the appropriate culture and values. Sets appropriate tone and expectations for their team and work in collaboration with risk and control partners.
- Lead and support a change in mindset, building a culture of client centricity, agility, and accountability through standardised metrics and measurement, ensuring everyone in the Bank are drivers and owners of client outcomes.
- Employ, engage, and retain high quality people.
- Ensure team structure/capacity is reviewed to enable delivery of client outcomes.
- Ensure the provision of on-going training & development, ensure that direct reports are suitably skilled and qualified for their roles and that they have effective supervision in place to mitigate any risk.
- Set and monitor job descriptions and objectives for direct reports and provide feedback and rewards in line with their performance against those responsibilities and objectives.
- Create a motivational and challenging environment for staff which is conducive to creativity and performance with customer centricity in mind.
Risk Management
- Independently identify key issues and initiate efforts to assess and drive resolution, working in collaboration with the Global Head, Group Transformation and the Group Transformation management team.
- Act quickly and decisively when any risk and control weakness become apparent and ensure they are addressed within an appropriate timeframe and, if necessary, escalated through the relevant committees.
Governance
- Work with Global Head, Group Transformation to establish and maintain an active repository of key follow up issues emerging from internal and external activities and ensure their effective closure.
- Work with Global Head, Group Transformation to establish and maintain a forward-looking view of business and management deliverables and effectively leverage this information to set key meetings and committee agendas that inform and advance progress.
- Responsible for governance management of the Group Transformation Office to ensure all committee, board and Group MT papers are reviewed and submitted on time. Ensure evidence is documented to discharge Group Transformation responsibilities.
- Ensure efficient and effective alignment of Global Head, Group Transformation’s calendar with both internal and external priorities by working with the Executive Assistants.
- Support financial and governance reporting that accompanies the Group’s governance and risk management processes.

Qualification
- Academic or Professional Education/Qualifications: Bachelor’s / Master’s degree in Engineering / Business / Finance or equivalent
- Management / Technology Consulting experience
Our Ideal Candidate
- 10+ years of relevant experience in consulting, transformation, or Chief of Staff area of sizeable international companies, ideally with experience in the finance sector. International exposure and ability to handle cultural diversity will be essential to this role.
- A strategic and analytical thinker with strong problem-solving skills that exhibits the ability to make balanced judgments / decisions leveraging quantitative and qualitative approaches.
- Has ability to articulate problem statements, conceptualise solutions and is prepared to ‘roll up his/her sleeves’ to get the job done.
- Demonstrates ability to concurrently own and work on multiple key areas independently or in a group within a large, rapidly changing environment to deliver high quality outcomes on time, even with limited direction.
- Ability to handle sensitive matters / initiatives with discretion and confidentiality.
- Proven leadership skills and ability to work as a strong team player in a multi-cultural global setting.
- Strong stakeholder management and alignment capability, including securing buy-in with senior stake holders and business leaders.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills – oral, written and presentation.
- Confident and courageous to raise/escalate issues in a pro-active, professional, and timely manner.
