JOB SUMMARY

  • The incumbent will be part of Wealth Solutions Operations team, driving projects and initiatives, addressing issues and participating actively in the delivery of core programmes as per the Operations and business roadmap as well as lead/support the achievement of Operations OKRs and benefits as required. 
  • Lead complex and high-priority projects, and manage sponsors and stakeholders with competing priorities, resourcing levels and time constraints across all typical project phases
  • Work closed with cross-functional teams to clarify each project’s objectives, formulate the business case and define the business requirements, including setting and managing realistic expectations for successful delivery
  • Build and manage relationships with key project stakeholders in Operations, Technology and Business
  • Support and facilitate timely communication between key stakeholder groups in the project
  • Coordinate and provide testing support to all relevant stakeholders
  • Optimise value delivery through continuous improvement, gathering feedback from relevant stakeholders / Subject Matter Experts / clients and re-prioritise backlog accordingly
  • Provide timely and accurate status reports to the relevant stakeholders and, Committees and Senior Management
  • Track actions arising from various forums and/or committees to closure
  • Lead and support new product, process or service initiative in a project coordination / capacity management in close collaboration with the appropriate functions or units
  • Assist the teams in their process re-engineering efforts and contribute towards overall efficiency improvements
  • Work with Operations units to assess and streamline processes in order to mitigate risk or control issues and generate efficiencies
  • Maintain a central repository of the list of initiatives impacting Operations or led by Operations with detailed timelines 
  • Monitor each project’s progress against schedule, identify and escalate any potential issues or risks

People & Talent 

  • Demonstrate and act as a role model of the Group’s values and culture
  • Lead and support a change in mindset, building a culture of client centricity, agility, and accountability through standardised metrics and measurement
  • Set effective metrics and standards, transparently communicating them to squads
  • Ensure squad capacity is reviewed to enable delivery of client outcomes.

  • Maintain strong stakeholder engagement with WM Business, COO / Operations, TTO, Risk & Compliance and Group Internal Audit to ensure alignment across stakeholder groups to support the deliverables 
  • Ensure appropriate representation across the stakeholder groups in delivery forums.
  • Escalate appropriately to ensure key stakeholders are made aware and can timely intervene to right-course 

Regulatory & Business Conduct 

  • Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group’s Values and Code of Conduct. 
  • Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank.   • Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.

Our Ideal Candidate 

  • 6+ years’ experience in Operations/change/transformation or business analysis role preferably in Wealth Management.
  • Experience in working with technology project teams, experience representing business would be an advantage.
  • Have a proven track record of scoping and driving delivery of projects and achieving results independently, on time and to budget.
  • Ability to work in project teams to help formulate the implications of a specific solution across the process, e.g. costs, risk, potential for re-use of capability developed, etc.
  • Demonstrated excellent people management skills and ability to influence key stakeholders outside their direct control.
  • Be highly collaborative, team-oriented and strong consensus builder.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills both written and oral.
  • Be a strategic thinker, able to lead project working groups, possessing strong facilitation and data gathering skills, and able to provide creative & innovative solutions.
  • Demonstrate understanding of Operations processes and procedures and an ability to learn quickly – knowledge of processes related to Operations or the Financial Services industry would be an advantage.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Project, Visio and Sharepoint.
  • Hands-on attitude, able to juggle multiple projects and priorities, thrive under pressure and work to tight deadlines.
  • Ability to work in a flexible manner in line with the organisation objectives and willingness to undertake other duties as reasonably requested.
