DESCRIPTION
With the growing need to support the Operations business in Australia and Singapore, Amazon is seeking a curious, intuitive, self-motivated, and creative communications professional to support the AU & SG Operations Internal Communication (OIC) Team, to champion and implement employee-facing communications and campaigns for AU and SG Ops associates and their leaders. You will implement global and local employee communication and specific engagement strategies and programs. The role would suit a tenacious, detail-orientated people person with a passion for storytelling, comfort to lead through ambiguity, agility to navigate a large-scale, complex business, and juggle priorities. The role will be based out of Singapore.
Key job responsibilities
• Work as part of the AU/SG Ops Internal Comms team, to produce high quality written, video and other assets with clear, tailored narratives to engage Amazon Operations employee base.
• Prepare and publish approved content across internal digital and print media channels including, employee app, intranet, site bulletin boards and digital signage, and eDMs.
• Maintain and manage the country editorial calendar for multiple print and digital internal channels, identifying stories that aligns with business needs.
• Provide evaluation, analysis and reporting of internal communication channels and campaigns to inform continuous improvement and future strategies.
• Proactively build and manage relationships with key internal stakeholders across Operations business lines, support functions and locations.
• Manage agency relationships and central content production to ensure consistency and adherence to collateral creation.
• Have the ability to work efficiently with processes and systems, needing to be completely hands-on when required.
A day in the life
– Support the Amazon Operations business in Singapore (SGP) and Australia (AU) by communicating to managers and associates through multiple channels
– Collaborate with our SG and AU OIC teams to adopt and scale best practices, earn trust with the stakeholders who run a successful Operations business in these geographies.
– Demonstrate a high degree of ownership and bias for action when it comes to delivering comms to the business on a day-to-day basis.
About the team
Operations Internal Communications (OIC) is responsible for creating and delivering communications to Operations Managers and frontline employees within Amazon Global Operations. We deliver strategic business communication counsel and campaigns, as well as support issues, changes, and announcements. OIC team members come to work each day to obsess over the Amazonian experience. We are stewards of our corporate reputation and consistently seek ways to build brand ambassadors from the inside out. Our goal is to create and deliver communications and experiences to keep our employees informed, engaged, and proud to be Amazonians.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
– 5+ years of recent professional communications or public relations experience
– Bachelor’s degree
– Excellent writing skills are a must, with the ability to formulate a clear point of view on complicated issues
– Experience in building and rolling out robust communication programs that delivered good outcomes
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
– • Internal or external communications experience with logistics, operations, e-commerce or retail companies
– • Experience developing relevant content and managing communication channels for a diverse and mobile workforce
– • Experience in editorial calendar management including not only carrying out each activity but monitoring its implementation and, where necessary, making adjustments or forward planning
– • Experience with using metrics to measure communication and program effectiveness, reach, and engagement
– • Self-starter who can work in a highly ambiguous and start-up environment and still produce specific results
– • Ability to exercise high judgment and persuasion, particularly in narrow time-frames
