The role will lead and operationalize Group-wide data & AI governance, oversight and assurance to ensure safe, responsible and compliant use of AI and data across all operating companies. The role will focus on establishing effective AI governance structures, monitoring operations and incident management frameworks, while embedding AI risk controls into existing AI, data, security and enterprise governance processes. Through clear policies, oversight mechanisms and operating models, the role will strengthen accountability, transparency and trust in AI initiatives to better support business innovation and meet regulatory obligations in an AI-first environment.
Make an Impact by
AI Governance Framework and Policies
- Develop, implement and maintain Group-wide AI governance frameworks, policies and standards in alignment with organisational objectives, ethical principles and regulatory requirements.
- Stay abreast of emerging trends, risks and regulatory developments in AI governance to ensure governance frameworks remain current, effective and fit-for-purpose.
AI Governance Operations and Practices
- Work collaboratively with AI governance stakeholders in operating companies to drive consistent adoption of AI governance practices across the Group.
- Oversee AI governance processes and mechanisms, including the maintenance of AI inventories and oversight activities, to ensure AI risks are identified, assessed and managed appropriately.
- Support the implementation and ongoing use of tools and processes to monitor AI systems and governance controls.
AI Monitoring and Incident Management
- Establish and maintain operational processes to support the monitoring and oversight of AI systems in production.
- Develop and coordinate AI incident management practices, ensuring alignment with existing data protection, cybersecurity and enterprise incident response frameworks.
Group Data Governance Policy and Frameworks
- Review and enhance Group Data Governance policies and frameworks to ensure continued relevance in the context of AI, including areas such as metadata, data lineage, provenance and governance structures.
- Support the development of frameworks and mechanisms for secure data collaboration with partners and regulatory authorities, enabling AI and analytics use cases while managing data and compliance risks.
Advisory Support and Continuous Improvement
- Serve as a subject matter expert providing guidance and advisory support to stakeholders on AI governance, data governance and responsible AI practices.
- Support governance reviews, reporting and ad-hoc initiatives to continuously strengthen AI and data governance maturity across the Group.
Skills for Success
- Diploma or higher
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in AI governance, data governance, technology risk, or related governance and assurance roles.
- Experience in designing and delivering enterprise-wide governance frameworks or programmes for AI, data or advanced analytics.
- Experience in establishing or managing oversight, monitoring or assurance activities for AI, analytics or technology-driven initiatives.
- Proven ability to work across multiple stakeholders and business units to drive governance outcomes in complex organisations.
- Knowledge of AI and data governance principles and practices, including oversight, risk management and assurance.
- Experience in operationalising governance frameworks and managing change within complex, regulated environments.
- Ability to identify and manage AI and data risks through appropriate governance controls and processes.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Critical and structured thinker with good problem-solving abilities.
- High personal and professional integrity with strong work ethics.
