As a Data Scientist, you will play a pivotal role in uncovering deep customer insights and developing AI/ML solutions that unlock business value across Singtel’s core product lines – including Mobile, Broadband, TV and Enterprise services. Embedded within the AI & Data Analytics (AIDA) business unit, your work will enable the identification of cross-sell and up-sell opportunities, support personalised engagement strategies and drive data-informed decisions to unlock new revenue streams and enhance customer lifetime value.
This role sits at the intersection of data, AI / ML, and marketing, serving as a key enabler in translating the company’s AI vision into impactful, data-driven solutions. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams across Marketing, IT, Analytics, and external partners to develop, validate, and operationalize machine learning models and GenAI applications that are deeply integrated into enterprise platforms and architected for scalability and long-term growth.
Make An Impact By
- Lead Data Science Initiatives: Work closely with business stakeholders to identify high-value opportunities, define problem statements, and architect end-to-end AI/ML solutions (including Generative AI and LLM implementations) that align with organizational objectives.
- Model Development & Integration: Design, build, and integrate analytical models into a customer-centric decision engine. Champion best practices for model deployment, scalability, and monitoring in production environments.
- Customer Behavior Analysis: Apply cutting-edge techniques to uncover insights on customer behavior, life stages, affluence, and interests across Singtel’s products and services. Deliver actionable recommendations to enhance customer experiences and drive revenue growth.
- Data Exploration & Experimentation: Enable robust data exploration, insight discovery, and experimentation for lifecycle marketing campaigns. Devise and execute rigorous A/B tests, segmentations, and optimization strategies to continuously improve business outcomes.
- Stakeholder Communication: Communicate complex analytical findings and recommendations to diverse audiences—ranging from technical teams to senior leadership—in a clear, concise, and compelling manner.
- Coding Standards & Technical Practice: Follow best practices in coding, version control, and documentation to ensure collaboration and reproducibility. Gain exposure to production workflows and cloud-based environments with a focus on cost efficiency and performance.
- Continuous Learning: Stay updated on industry trends, new tools, and techniques in AI/ML/GenAI and customer analytics. Proactively seek opportunities to apply new knowledge to business problems.
Skills for Success:
- Bachelor or Postgraduate degree in computer science, mathematics, statistics, or a related field, with at least 1 years of relevant working experience.
- Deep technical and data science expertise, demonstrating proficiency in:
- Machine Learning & Statistical Modelling: Including linear regression, GLMs, time series forecasting, supervised learning (e.g., gradient boosted trees, neural networks), segmentation, clustering, design of experiments, and causal inference.
- Efficient data manipulation (with skills in SQL, Python, Spark, Hadoop/Hive, and Databricks) and data visualization (using tools like Power BI).
- Familiar with software engineering best practices, including modular code design, reproducibility, and testing. Proficient with version control tools such as GitHub, GitLab, and Bitbucket
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and solve complex business problems through data analysis.
- A team player with a customer-focused mindset, able to work well in a team and passionate about delivering exceptional customer experiences.
- Excellent data visualization and communication skills, with the ability to present insights and findings in a clear, concise, and compelling manner, both in written and verbal form.
