What you do :

Reporting to the Group Head of Operational Risk Management (ORM), you will join and lead a high performing team responsible for Operational Risk Governance, Central Programmes Management, Analytics & Reporting and Systems Management.

Operational Risk Governance:

1) Ensure the smooth conduct of Group Operational Risk Committee (ORC) and delivery of key Operational Risk agenda items to Board Risk Management Committee (BRMC).

2) Develop and implement a comprehensive operational risk governance framework aligned with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.

3) Establish and maintain policies, procedures, and standards for operational risk management across the organization.

Central Programme Management:

1) Oversee the Operational Risk Events Reporting process, ensuring timely identification, assessment, and reporting of operational risk events.

2) Lead the Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) process, facilitating workshops and ensuring comprehensive risk identification and control evaluation.

3) Coordinate the Internal Capital Adequacy Assessment Process (ICAAP) as it relates to operational risk, ensuring alignment with overall capital planning and risk appetite.

4) Manage the calculation of Risk-Weighted Assets (RWA) for operational risk, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory standards.

5) Oversee the OCBC’s insurance program, including the identification of insurable risks and the procurement of appropriate coverage and claims management processes.

Analytics & Reporting:

1) Develop and maintain operational risk dashboards and reporting tools to provide timely insights to senior management and stakeholders.

2) Analyze operational risk data to identify trends, emerging risks, and areas for improvement in risk management practices.

3) Prepare and present regular reports on operational risk performance, including key risk indicators (KRIs) and risk mitigation efforts to senior management and the board.

Systems Management:

1) Oversee the implementation and maintenance of operational risk management systems and tools to enhance data collection, analysis, and reporting capabilities.

2) Collaborate with IT and data management teams to ensure data integrity, security, and accessibility for operational risk management purposes.

Stakeholder Engagement:

1) Foster strong relationships with internal stakeholders, including business units, compliance, audit, and finance, to promote a culture of risk awareness and accountability.

2) Engage with external regulators and industry bodies to stay abreast of regulatory developments and best practices in operational risk management.

3) Lead training and awareness initiatives to enhance the organization’s understanding of operational risk and its management.

Who you are :

1) You’ve got more than 15 years of experience in a risk and control, audit, or compliance role.

2) You have deep end-to end experience in non-financial risk management in the second line of defence capacity.  

3) You’re proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.

4) Analytical, inquisitive, tenacious. You’re a results-driven self-starter, an adept problem solver with strong quantitative skills and comfortable in communications with senior management.
