How You Succeed
You’ll thrive by deeply understanding our systems and data flows. Success means architecting scalable and secure ELK solutions, proactively identifying bottlenecks, and automating everything possible. Collaborate closely with DevOps, developers and data engineers to refine the observability ecosystem and drive continuous improvement at OCBC.
What you do

Architect and deploy Elasticsearch clusters tailored to enterprise requirements, considering hardware, networking, and security. Ensure seamless integration with container platforms like OpenShift.

Configure Elasticsearch settings including index mappings, shard allocation, and cluster parameters. Optimize performance across ingestion, indexing, and querying.

Design and implement scalable data pipelines using Logstash, Kafka, and other ingestion tools. Handle large data volumes efficiently and ensure robust indexing strategies.

Optimize search queries, relevance scoring, and aggregations to enhance user experience and system responsiveness.

Implement monitoring solutions using Kibana, Elasticsearch APIs, and third-party tools. Proactively identify and resolve issues related to cluster health, indexing, and search performance.

Plan and execute horizontal and vertical scaling strategies. Ensure high availability and fault tolerance through replication and data redundancy.

Implement robust security controls including authentication, authorization, and encryption. Ensure compliance with enterprise security policies and standards.

Develop full interoperability with operations platforms such as change management, service management, and privileged access management systems. Integrate observability capabilities with infrastructure and application layers.

Collaborate with stakeholders to build automation scripts and runbooks using tools like Ansible, Terraform, and PowerShell. Drive the development of self-healing capabilities within the observability ecosystem.

Provide support for existing monitoring systems. Lead the transition to AI-enabled observability platforms.

Maintain comprehensive documentation of configurations, deployments, and troubleshooting procedures. Work closely with DevOps, developers, and data engineers to ensure seamless integration and support.

Stay current with Elasticsearch, OpenShift, Kafka, and related technologies. Apply best practices and emerging trends to improve system reliability and performance.

Who You Are

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in managing enterprise distributed cluster environments.

Experience with enterprise logging platforms (e.g., Elasticsearch, Splunk).

Proficiency in automation scripting (Ansible, Terraform, PowerShell, etc.).

Strong understanding of both application and infrastructure domains.
-
Experience with container orchestration platforms like OpenShift.
-
Experience managing ELK stack deployments within OpenShift environments, including container orchestration and resource allocation.

Ability to configure and maintain persistent storage for ELK components using Kubernetes Persistent Volume Claims (PVC).

Familiarity with object storage solutions such as Amazon S3 for log archiving and long-term data retention.

Understanding of storage performance considerations and capacity planning for Elasticsearch indices and log data.

Familiarity with Kafka, Logstash, and Kibana for data ingestion and visualization.

Solid knowledge of hardware, operating systems, and system services performance tuning.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a creative mindset.

Strong communication skills in written and spoken English.

Proven ability to work collaboratively across teams and influence stakeholders.

Ability to perform under pressure and meet tight deadlines with minimal supervision.
