Make an Impact by:
- Carry out engineering planning (both pipeline and cable network) to support infrastructure project.
- Manage a team of staff to plan and ensure timely implementation of underground fibre and pipe as required by customer and in accordance to required timeline.
- Manage contractor to ensure work are appropriately scheduled and carried out in order to meet customers’ requirement. This includes monitoring of daily schedule and accounting for actual work carried out for cable pulling and terminations
- Track and analyse the performance of fibre and pipe contractors in accordance to the penalty and incentive framework and take appropriate actions if the contractors’ performance do not meet the expected performance target.
- Coordinate with various stakeholders (contractors, customers and service partners) to deliver service on time
- Manage the expectations of stake holders such as building managers, contractors, customers, sales, product and field operations staff
- Budget management for Operating Expenditure and Capital Expenditure for the department.
- Continuous monitoring to ensure prudence in expenditure.
- Manage and upkeep the network inventory record up to date.
- Monitor and Analyse network data, provide statistic report and trigger pro-active top up to the pipeline/cable capacity.
- Attend site meeting with other public bodies, service agencies and developers in connection with provision of underground plants.
- Implement initiates, new automation process to reduce manual works (eg. via RPA) and improve customer experience
- Assist in documentation of new processes and procedures to improve team efficiency
- The role is to look after infrastructure into the data centres and to proactively top up the fibre when required such as Microsoft, AWS, Alibaba etc.
- Dark fibre projects are highly customized and be responsible for its implementation and ensuring that dark fibre services are delivered to customer meeting Customer Ready Date (CRD).
- Provide regular updates and, or reports to the supervisor on the work progress and issues related to the planning and operation works.
- To ensure the technicians and contractors follow safety procedure in accordance to the work health and safety act (WHSA) and to use appropriate safety equipment so as to complete the assigned job efficiently and safely.
- Clear all the claims submitted by contractors/supervisor related to your pipeline and fibre work.
- Perform any other ad-hoc duties as per assigned by supervisor.
Skills for Success:
- Bachelor of Engineering, Telecommunications or in relevant field.
- Preferably with 1 year working experience
- Able to communicate well with all levels of people.
- Able to manage multiple projects at same period of time
- Good in Microsoft software (i.e; words, power point, excel, etc) Good communication skills, keen to learn and a team player.
- Class 3 driving license required
