JOB SUMMARY

The Executive of Strategy Planning & Deployment, APEC is a key member of the Brand, Loyalty, Marketing, Revenue, Sales & Distribution Digital, Strategy Planning & Services organization (i.e., Consumer Operations), which support project management & implementation services to APEC Consumer Operations teams. The position will report into the Senior Manager, Strategy Planning & Deployment. This role is responsible for:

  • Supporting the planning & execution of the deployment projects that drive the strategic priorities of the company
  • Liaising various communications between associates, cross-functional teams and external partners implementation of Consumer Operations strategic initiatives to ensure deployment is implemented effectively
  • Supporting project performance tracking, evaluation & analytics to ensure the projects are delivered on track and on time.
  • Assisting in training materials & resources creations together with the deployment team to ensure proper implementation     

Success in this role requires strong organizational skills, strategic thinking, strong work ethic, and the ability to manage multiple complex project and priorities concurrently.  This position will work closely with other departments within Marriott’s APEC team (e.g F&B Ops, Loyalty Ops, Loyalty Marketing, Finance & IT etc.) as well as with senior leadership in the field.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

Education and Experience

  • 4-year degree from an accredited university in Business Administration/Management, Marketing or Hotel and Restaurant Management preferred
  • 1-2 years of relevant professional experience, demonstrating progressive career growth and a pattern of exceptional performance 

 

Attributes, Skills & Experience Preferred

  • Prior hotel or hospitality working experience is preferred
  • Prior project management experiences would be advantageous
  • Demonstrates strong communication & organizations skills including ability to communicate changes clearly and persuasively
  • Demonstrates strong problem-solving skills based on anticipate issues that may arise and motivate change

 

CORE WORK ACTIVITIES 

Project Strategy Planning

Supports cross-functional teams comprised of discipline experts from Consumer Operations (Sales, Revenue, Brand, Loyalty, Digital, Marketing) & other disciplines including Operations, HR, Finance & Regional leadership team to:

  • Plan & schedule the APEC deployment initiatives by working with Consumer Operations Deployment Services team to meet project objectives and goals on time and on budget
  • Create project governance and framework including project plan & dashboard to track project progress & updates
  • Engage internal partners across disciplines to prepare content or training materials as needed to drive change
  • Create surveys to collect information collection from hotels

Project Implementation & Execution

Support the Strategy Planning & Deployment lead and day-to-day project decision makers with the following responsibilities:

  • Support the daily execution & implementation tasks ensure the project is delivered on-time
  • Drive change to various stakeholders via executing various communication strategies 
  • Conduct performance and program analysis to drive program implementation & adoption
  • Create in-market training materials & resources to ensure implementations are delivered effectively
  • Organize training webinars and leadership meetings to facilitate the project updates & project introduction
  • Participate in review cycles at key milestones & provide go/no-go decision
  • Actively participate in strategy sessions & assist on project follow up tracking & executions
