As an Experience Design Researcher, you will play a critical role in shaping the user experience of Singtel’s products and services by uncovering insights that drive design and business decisions. You will proactively identify research opportunities, design and execute studies, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance customer experiences, improve NPS, reduce operational costs, and increase digital penetration.
In this role, you will work closely with Experience Designers and Content Designers in the team, as well as other stakeholders like Product Owners, Product Marketing, and Tech to ensure user insights are integrated into product development and business strategies. Given the breadth of Singtel’s products, this role requires initiative, adaptability, and a strong understanding of research methodologies to navigate diverse business needs.

- Lead research projects end-to-end, from defining objectives to execution, synthesis, reporting, and presentation, while ensuring deadlines are met.
- Assess project needs to identify and apply the appropriate qualitative and quantitative research methods, such as usability testing, interviews, surveys, and analytics review.
- Collaborate with Experience Designers and Content Designers to test and refine designs and copy, ensuring usability and clarity for customers.
- Conduct foundational and generative research to uncover user needs, behaviors, and pain points, shaping new product opportunities and long-term experience strategy.
- Proactively engage with stakeholders such as product owners, designers, engineers, and business teams, to translate business questions into research objectives and integrate research into decision-making.
- Synthesise research insights into compelling, actionable presentations for stakeholders and upper management, ensuring findings lead to informed business and design decisions.
- Success in this role is measured by the ability to conduct research that influences product decisions, drive progress of projects independently while ensuring deadlines are met, apply appropriate research methods based on business needs, and establish strong working relationships with stakeholders.
Skills for Success
- Min Diploma/Degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Psychology, Cognitive Science, Human Factors, Digital Media, UI/UX Design, or relevant professional work experience
- Strong portfolio demonstrating end-to-end research projects and their impact on product decisions is critical for consideration.
- Min 2 years of experience in designing and executing both qualitative and quantitative research studies, including participant recruitment, study moderation, data analysis, and delivering actionable insights through comprehensive reports to stakeholders.
- Proficiency in various research methods such as usability testing, interviews, surveys, field research
- Strong skills in analysing both qualitative and quantitative data, synthesising findings into actionable insights that inform design and product decisions.
- Experience with industry standard research and analysis tools for user testing (e.g. Maze, Optimal Workshop, User Testing).
- Experience in creating simple prototypes or wireframes on Figma (or equivalent tools) for research activities
- Strong knowledge of qualitative and quantitative research methodologies
- Excellent communication skills with ability to translate complex findings into clear, actionable insights
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to integrate research insights into the product development process.
