As a key member of our risk management team, you will play a critical role in shaping the future of OCBC. You will work closely with stakeholders to identify and mitigate credit risks, ensuring the bank’s continued stability and growth. How you succeed
To excel in this role, you will need to stay ahead of the curve, anticipating and responding to emerging trends and risks. You will work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to develop and implement effective credit risk management strategies, leveraging data and analytics to inform your decisions.

What you do

  • Establish due diligence questionnaire and conduct credit due diligence on hedge fund counterparties.
  • Establish credit format and credit underwriting standards including sector-specific & client-specific controls/parameters with the Head of GWCRM-FI to ensure portfolio remains healthy. This includes educating Global Financial Institutions – Credit Analysts.
  • Propose user requirements in systems to support account review and risk management.
  • Discuss with rating team to internally grade hedge fund counterparties and recommend standard metrics to differentiate stronger counterparties from the relatively weaker counterparties.
  • Actively monitor hedge fund clients for identify vulnerabilities and provide timely updates upon identification of credit event or event risk, as well as following through trade portfolio close-out.
  • Enhance relevant policy and procedure requirements to strengthen risk management and risk governance.
  • Establish close collaboration with stakeholders and active participation in working groups.
  • Propose documentation terms in ISDA/CSA.
  • Work on assignments/projects as delegated and portfolio may be enhanced to include Global Asset Managers.

Who you are

  • A degree in a relevant field, such as finance, economics, or mathematics
  • At least 5 years of experience in credit risk management, preferably in a financial institution (Hedge Funds)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and persuade others
  • Strong understanding of credit risk management principles and practices, with the ability to apply them in a practical context
