Job Summary

Qatalyst is a buyer-centric carbon due diligence platform that radically improves the way you identify, evaluate and monetize carbon offsets for scale and impact.

Key Responsibilities

Finance

  • Lead the FP&A process and advise on long term business and financial planning.
  • Contribute in formulating and evaluating business strategies/performance including planning, forecasting and budgeting, advanced analysis of financial data, product profitability and liquidity
  • Support in future fundraising efforts and advise on the optimum funding model both tactically and structurally as the organisation grows. 
     

Ops

  • Ensure adherence to the risk management framework in identifying, controlling, monitoring and reporting the key risks 
  • Lead the development of new processes, procedures and systems as per business’s need.
  • Set processes in place to deliver high standards of operations and control to deliver key priorities and initiatives, aligned to the Company’s business goals.

Business

  • Support the CFO in the day-to-day management and running of the Finance and ops function. 
  • Establish an optimum funding model as the venture grows. Review cash positions daily. Prepare liquidity forecasts for the next 3-6 months. Set up banking facilities
  • Be responsible for tax registration, compliance and reporting, 
  • Work with Product/Operations teams during new product launch and pricing
  • Coordinate with SCV Finance for Financial Reporting and Accounting matters
  • Ensure that appropriate financial and operational controls are in place

Risk Management

  • You will take ownership of the design, implementation and maintenance of finance functions to ensure processes and reporting meet regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure robust process controls in line with the operational risk framework. Lay emphasis on ensuring key control checks (KCSAs) are done on a timely and effective basis and also ensuring no audit fails occur.
  • To escalate the unit’s operational risk issues and losses to appropriate levels
  • Be the designated contact point from finance for any audit or risk items
     

Governance

  • Follow a risk-based approach to decision making
  • Use various metrics to identify potential risk for the Company and appropriately escalate them to risk stakeholders
  • Ensure timely escalation to senior management of any exception noticed related to work and environment. 
  • Ensure legal and regulatory compliance
  • Support internal and external audits and regulatory reviews and reporting requirements

Skills and Experience

Our Ideal Candidate

  • Awareness and understanding of the wider business, economic and market environment in which we operate, especially the wider current and upcoming regulatory and accounting requirements and their impact on the business.
  • Experience in preparing and presenting financial and operational information to a board of directors
  • Previous fundraising experience will be an advantage
  • Knowledge of financial controls, revenue recognition and financing modelling
  • Knowledge of financial governance and controls
  • Experience negotiating complex corporate contracts
