Job Summary

We have an exciting role to join the team in Singapore. The role holder will be: 

  • Driving future focused Risk management for SCM and CRES that results in valuable outcomes to enable the Group and S&T strategy. 
  • Delivering simplification, automation, and efficiency from a Risk perspective through collaboration and challenge to influence a Client Focus, Risk aware culture. 
  • Achieve an effective risk culture, including strong horizon scanning, by actively partnering across the Group with First, Second and Third-Line Functions and the Businesses.
  • Ensure all risks and issues are effectively identified, prioritised, assessed, mitigated (to within Risk appetite) and monitored in a timely manner whilst maintaining full transparency to relevant stakeholders or Committees.
  • Partnering with GIA to establish a meaningful, risk-based Audit Plan and ensure all audit issues are clearly articulated and assessed with appropriate action plans to ensure risk mitigation is delivered to plan.
  • Creating effective mechanisms to ensure streamlined response management to risk events impacting SCM and CRES.

Key Responsibilities

Strategy

  • Responsible for delivery of the Risk roadmap which are aligned to the standards / requirements set by Enterprise Risk Management Framework and the setting of appropriate metrics and standards for risk. 
  • Design and implement changes to SCM and CRES Risk profile in line with  Group’s strategy. 
  • Align Risk profile to change programs such as risk simplfication and other Group initiatives. 
  • Partner on programs and provide inputs to initiatives to drive client focussed outcomes in Risk management.

Business

  • Partner with relevant GPOs and CPOs to ensure a risk assessment and control testing is being performed in line the Banks ERMF. 
  • Partner with Business Risk Managers of all businesses and functions to embed Safety and Security Risk as RFO.. 

Processes

  • Establish processes for Risk assessment and control testing (working with the Control Effectiveness Team) in line with the Bank’s ERMF at global and country. 

 

Risk Management

  • Be the subject matter expert on Risk within SCM and CRES
    • The Enterprise Risk Management Framework and underlying Risk Type Frameworks (RTFs) are effectively embedded.
    • An effective framework and control environment is maintained with regards to all  First and Second Line processes
    • Ensure the risk profile remains within the Group’s Risk Appetite
    • Design and deliver the Risk model for delivery of adherence to TPRM for SCM and CRES 

Lead the implementation of all RTFs across SCM and CRES, ensuring they are effectively embedded across all clusters and markets by: 

  • Providing global alignment, direction and leadership. 
  • Monitoring and challenging RTF implementation progress / effectiveness, driving improvements.
  • Ensuring that risks are assessed, and control cost / benefit decisions are made transparently in accordance with the Group’s Policies, Standards and Group Risk Appetite. 
  • Partner with Control Effectiveness team to influence the design of effective controls and the systematic monitoring of control effectiveness and compliance with applicable laws and regulations. 
  • Providing a comprehensive view of (1) the material risks facing SCM and CRES (2) the material People risks facing the Bank as RFO, ensuring that risk assessment and reporting is comprehensive and accurate.
  • Embed an effective and exemplary risk culture (aligned to Group risk appetite), with appropriate escalation. 
  • Build strong engagement between Second Line teams and SCM and CRES to ensure effective management, monitoring and reporting of risks.
